You start to see them humanizing characters like A-Train and Popclaw ..they aren’t great people but you can understand their motivations. MM and Frenchie’s dynamic is great and provides for some of the funniest moments in the show . Anthony Starr is so good as Homelander .. he can switch so instantly from the charming ,wholesome public persona to the intimidating ,sociopathic true self
One of the reasons that make's this show great is that the writers treat everybody as human beings and not 1 dimensional characters or plot devices unlike the The Boys comic book series.

I feel like this series is the perfect example of what a gritty DCEU could have been. It’s still serious and pessimistic and dark but it’s not...well for lack of better words...like the DCEU. It’s not afraid to have a little comedy to break up the bleakness. Proving that you can have jokes in something with it still having that dark tone

I like that you like the actor for Homelander. If you like The Boys then you would like his previous show, Banshee. The first 2 episodes are full of action and jokes and the fights are f**king brutal. Such a good show.

*Eric,* as someone that was also diagnosed as pre-diabetic, your number one goal is to cut out all processed sugars. Which is not that easy. I've got to tell you though, in the first 6 months of doing that, I lost a lot of weight without exercising. One of the main things I always make to eat is a mixture of chicken, tomato and kale on pita bread. It's been maybe two years and I'm about 30 or 40 lb lighter. And one interesting change is that now when I do have even a little sugar, I find I start to itch. It's gotten so much easier to stay away from it. Checking the sugar content (esp _added_ sugar) as you shop is important. As well as _knowing exactly what the maximum daily allowance should be_ for you. But after doing it for a while, it gets easier. And, I feel much better than I ever did. Since going to a better diet, I don't have *any* of the digestive issues that I used to have. I'm not a vegetarian, I just don't eat red meat because it's too expensive. And that alone has made it easier to stay away from it.
The fight cinematography is probably the biggest thing I want to be solved next season. Queen Maeve's training and the Woman vs Black Noir made me dizzy

Well Queen Maeve seems to be kinda underpowered for a Wonder Woman reference, Homelander is definitely closer to Superman than she is to WW. Then again she's probably still in the top 3 strongest together with Homelander and doped up A-Train, so the rest of the Seven in general seem to be kinda underpowered in comparison to Homelander.

Homelander is Anthony Starr's breakout role. I mean he was great in Banshee but on Cinemax it wasnt really seen by a ton of people. I recommend people check it out if you like pulp style 80s action movies. Banshee is great. Anthony Starr was born to play Homelander though.
They absolutely could take over the world, Homelander basically makes the same point to Maeve in this episode. But most of the supes are in it for fame and money. Why go through all the trouble to take over and rule, when you already have your every whim taken care of and the public loves you? If you're in big leagues, I mean. The minor supes could get some ideas, but then they just get branded as supervillains and The Seven takes care of them.
I was just re-watching the hunger games and I noticed that the actor the plays Hewey is the guy that kills Rue. Don't know if anyone else realized that
Speed comes from the muscle power of the legs, also the stride how long the foot touches the ground how much of the foot touches the ground, how far you move in the air with each stride and much more but yes basically in order to have super speed you would have to have super strength in your legs and ideally moderate strengthen your arms with a decently fitcore yet not over bulky on your upper body

Homelander kills criminals, doesn't ask why, doesn't try to help change. These criminals seem to just be people hired to do random crime.
