I saw Steeleye in Oxford, summer of 1977. This lineup with the exception of Rick Kemp on bass and Nigel Pegrum on drums. What a treat to see them live! Unforgettable.

Martin Carthy was the master of this band, simply brilliant, his solo stuff too. Too much attention to Hutchings even when he was 'part' of Fairport, not so significant.

First heard the steeleyes on peels show, dug folk rock like this gem since, ❤
I first heard them in 1972 in Amsterdam music store and was blown away: fiddle, chorus, electricity!

It's the harmonies that make this so good. Forget Planxty's manic version. This is so relaxed.
