GDC didn’t recognise it yet so it’s a gamble, very expensive one about 70k
Hmm £20,000 up front and £48,000 after 6 months is huge
Exactly... ridiculous! If somebody had that much money why would they even wanna work was what I thought after I saw the fee!
Where is the fees structure mentioned? Could u please add the link to this .
@@dentistwithbraces r u interested
Hi, I'm a dentist from Egypt who graduated in 2001.I had to nurse my mum for the past 10 years due to her illness, so I wasn't practicing, and as a result, my dental skills were greatly diminished. Am I eligible for the degree? Can I start from scratch? I would really hope so.
Thanks a lot for this informative video. Just one question, though. This course is yet to get an approval from the GDC UK. Any information about this? Thanks again.
This was the same for the 4 year graduate entry course when it was first introduced. However, the graduates from the BDS course were able to graduate and qualify as the course got approved.
The process of getting a course approved by the GDC takes time. Updates would be available from UCLAN if they have any.
I am waiting for this as well
Please is there update on this?
I am dentist from outside of EEUU . Also I have a 2 years master in Moscow. As well I have been working as a dentist in Spain for 22 years. Can I be eligible for registration in the dental council in UK as a dental therapist or dental hygienist. My degree is from autonomous university of Santo Domingo in Dominican Republic. Thank.
I currently applied for this course and managed to get an interview at the end of this month.
There’s an entry assessment and an OSCE, this is an issue as I have no clue on where to prepare for it. And what is expected in this entry assessment besides the topics mentioned on the website.
Can you be of any help?
Thank you in advance
Well done for getting an interview. Since it's a new course there is no past history to inform your preparation in a specific way. I would probably look at the BDS 1-3 topics and use that as a foundation for preparation.
@Abdalla Hashim, how was the entry assessment? please can you enlighten on this....
Abdalla how was the entry assessment? Could you please share the details?
Hello! I am planning to apply for BDS also. Do you have study materials for the entrance exam? How was it?
@@bheemavarapudivya Hello. Did you take the entrance exam already? I am also planning to enter the university .Thank you!
What is the total cost of the course including cost of living
This now makes it seem like the US route.
Hello, would you please explain this route for training in US? i am an oversease dentist
Thank you in advancd
Hello sir, i did my bds from india and wanted to know how can I apply for this course and what are the eligibility criteria? Thankyou
“There can be no guarantee that this
will be the outcome of the GDC's review.”
This has been written by gdc on uclan’s website!!! What does it mean? After paying so much money , still its a risk for registration?
Hi,
It is understandably worrying. This was the same for the 4 year graduate entry course when it was first introduced. However, the graduates from the BDS course were able to graduate and qualify as the course got approved.
The process of getting it approved by the GDC takes time.
@@LancashireSmiles exactly how much time would it take?
@@LancashireSmiles To enroll in this course, one should be really cautious about the registration? If u arenot sure of registration why would you recommend this course for foreign graduates .
following this thread for any answers, has it been approved yet ? and how long does it take to get approved ? what happens if you graduate and it hasn't been approved by then
@@pranshubudhrani8959 there is no guarantee of any license by gdc,, the best thing is to see the formal batch situation this year in sep 2023., than to enroll in this course.,
I am 1 year late, do you think this path is still a good path?
For you which one in the best way the ORE o this new options of 18 months ?
18 months of this course seems to be the fastest route to working as a dentist in the UK. Ultimately your personal circumstances will decide whether the ORE is a better path for you or not.
Are there other universities in UK offering the same? If yes , kindly comment their names or links
No
Hi. Can you please tell me if a dental speciality training for 3 years in eastern Europe will be recognized in the UK? I don't know if I should be doing a dental specialist training in my country and after that coming to the UK or not doing one at all and come as a general dentist. How much does it matter in the UK to be a dental specialist from another country? Thank you!
Pls give an answer to our colleagues
Currently it seems as though Swiss dentists who are specialists can be recognised by the GDC. Otherwise you would need to go through the specialist training pathway if you are from another country.
If you know you want to work in the UK as a specialist then it's much more straightforward to do your specialist training in the UK.
There will always be a need for specialists but general dentists are in high demand and you can have a lot of scope without the title of a specialist.
Check out the following link on applications to the specialist list.

Hello , i would like to know if i got my degree in the EEA but license of qualification to practice dentistry outside EEA would i fall out of the category for applying due to the first requirement? thank you for kindly answering my question and have a great day :)
If you got your degree in EEA you will get automatical registration however this will change as they have allowed 5 more years or something like that.
Does the ORE route still exist with this??
I haven't heard anything about the ORE stopping.
Hey, I'm looking for information to apply to the NHS specialty training as an International dentist! to be exact for oral radiology. Thanks
Hi, You can get information directly from the GDC.

It seems it is hard for dentist in Nigeria to relocate to uk to practice ?
It may be hard but not impossible. Watch the following video if you want to hear from a dentist who made the transition from working in Zimbabwe to the UK.

What's the fee for the course
would you prefer the ORE Route or the 18 Month course? Also If I take the 18 month course Am I registered as a General Dentist afterwards>?
The 18 month route seems more straightforward and shorter but it comes with the substantial costs which you pay upfront.
After completing the 18 month course I'd expect you would go through the same process as UK trained dentists of being awarded a BDS. It seems as though the corporate Mydentist would take you on to help you obtain a performer number which enables you to treat patients under the NHS.
@@LancashireSmiles How long does it take to become a successful registered associate dentist just like you if I take the ORE path?
@@LancashireSmiles can you elaborate the process that we'll have to go through after this course? Would it still require the ORE or such similar registration exam or will it be more paperwork based?
You should watch this on details for the ORE path.

Completing the UCLan course means you wouldn't need to take the ORE route.
I complete BDS from India with internship if I study this course .Can in work as a dentist in UK
Getting on the UCLan course is a gateway to working in the UK as a dentist.
May I know how much it will cost? Is that online based course or face to face?
30% online 70% face to face and the cost is around £70,000
Hi.do you have information about ORE? Is it too hard exam? And how much does it take to pass it?

Will you become registered in the gdc after completing this course ?
It seems that completion of the course will lead to GDC registration.
@@LancashireSmiles do you think it is easy or hard to get into this program?
@@LancashireSmiles I have done Morth course outside the UK and got the certificate from RCSEd, Can I register as an orthodontist in the UK?
@@leo2110436 I would suggest you check the following link. The GDC decide what you need to register as a specialist.
www.gdc-uk.org/registration/your-registration/specialist-lists/specialist-list-application-pack
@@LancashireSmiles I have checked the link but is there a way to message the GDC and confirm that I can become specialist with my certificate ? So that I can proceed and register with Uclan university program
This could be a game changer but I bit the cost is stupidly high and I don't know if the financial support will provide all the costs of the program and cost of living in the UK
They require £20,000 upfront then £48,000 after 6 months so that may be a barrier for some. The financial support will help with accommodation, bills, food etc.
@@LancashireSmiles yeah that's a lot of money do u know if one can get a loan as a foreign trained dentist for this program?
There probably are ways to get a loan to help fund the course. Bank loans could be the first place to start...
@@LancashireSmiles how can you apply for bank loans?
Please let me know is there age limit for applying course
If you check their website you can get further info. You need to be a dentist in your current country to be considered.
@@LancashireSmiles Thanks
This now makes it seem like the US route.
True.. That too costs around the same amount
@@merlinjoseph8385Hello, would you please tell me about this route for USA ? i am also an oversease dentist.
