Like the review, but you kept referring to the total yards number as "carry". It would have been nice to hear the carry vs carry on the Trackman vs the Golfboy as the algorithms for runout vary. Seemed like launch direction seemed pretty close but I didn't catch the comparison numbers on launch angle - same with ball and club speed. Do you have those input comparisons which are the left side of the "carry" equation. Thanks
Was just thinking of this yesterday. Is there. Way to may your phone, seeing how far tech has come, to make it a launch monitor. Also, what haven’t we yet? Well, I suppose we have arrived
if its not picking up spin, its going to be tough. 90% of golfers struggle with slice which is bad spin, so they need to add spin and focus less on distance
Agree, smart looking app. But starting the video comparing it to a 3000$ monitor (think full spec Mevo+) is really not fair, considering the low amount of data points. The next storyline on home use makes a lot more sense.
Yeah, it’s “FREE” to download, but I’d rather just pay a set price than to be suckered into another subscription service that I know I will forget to cancel long after my last use.
@@Donkor640exactly. This is just another of the same thing. iPhone should have a free app for this. If one of their phone competitors made one that could be the reason I finally leave my p iPhones for another brand.
Looks like a usable tool , but you cannot replace actually hitting and watching a ball in the air and all that . Hitting off matts is not like hitting off the ground in anyway. This and any launch monitor tool do not replace real time and practice in golf ...period .Monthly fee is not free !
Can you use mesh balls? Like those yellow squishy ones? It’s cold AF in Jersey but I got some space in the living room to smack them things into a towel or something?
I just tried a foam ball and a range ball and they got similar results. Unfortunately I couldn’t do a full swing where I’m at but the pitch shots seemed comparable.

Great for exercise and something to do but hitting off a mat can be a game killer over time unfortunately. Grass makes a big difference in a lot of ways. Anything off the tee would be a bit better. Having said this though, if you understand the differences, this is a very cost effective way to at least keep your swing in shape.😊
The app is very cool but had no significant updates for a very long time. Maybe it’s time to invest on a full in-app simulation mode or going for something simpler like CTTH and putting practice with 3D graphics. Honestly I would pay 20$/month or more to have something with these features on my phone and probably wouldn’t need anything else as they use the collected data to improve the app readings. Golfboy team, hope you’re reading this ;)
Its because iphone cameras and mics are the same throughout the different models Android phones are all different makers, cameras etc. So apps cant calibrate to all the different makes.
so are many other professional level apps... a lot of devs won't put their stuff on android just because it's super easy to pirate on, ios is more secure, cameras are consistent and the ultra wide angle 4k 120ffps is necessary... Only the highest end android phones would be able to run it, it would be a nightmare to put this app on android and limit it to 1-3 devices tops.
@@Hazard4K wow a lot of iOS fan boys. If Apple hasn't improved their cameras since 2008 that's sad. Sorry but many phones that run on Android have ultra wide lenses LOL. To develop only on iOS is simply lazy and targeted to dumb people that have extra cash to buy overpriced Apple phones. LMAO
This is dumb I’ve seen you use those balls with the bushnell also and do you not understand the reading gets way thrown off when you use those… if it reads a certain ball speed it’s going to throw out a bunch of random numbers because it’s all an algorithm especially with the bushnell and I don’t see how this would be different…

Very interesting app. So it's pretty accurate with real golf balls and getting your distance for each club?
I would like to see this app put up against a GC quad to test its accuracy. I have never found a phone app LM that was consistently accurate.
