Hi wade this is john montano asking if u can help me create myself animated as a chinese martial artist so that i can make a new friend that way i wont have to be lonely when i make instagram videos or youtube videos or gaming videos. so if u have any ideas for me comment me back or subscribe on my channel and ill be able to reach out to you.thanks wade (:
Amazing work. This guy has taken his time and expert talents with 3D software and PS to show how he made such a fantastic final image. Explaining lighting, shadows and right down to how he added creases to the cushions. Everything he did to make this photo should be teaching us all that it is not just a simple case of copy n pasting something in photoshop. There was so much more to this as he proved. With great tips such as using a 360 degrees photo for getting the lighting perfectly matched for the 3D character to the scene. To me, I say well done and thank you for not only taking your time to explain what you did, but also for sharing all those great tips to help others who are interested.
I went to animation school (classical 2d) and it took me 2 weeks, 10 to 12hr days to animate a 1.5min shit cartoon. No sound no color. Obviously a pro could do it better and faster. But that's about 2160 pictures you have to draw minimum. If you have multiple characters or background animation it'll take more. Then you have to digitize them (we had a mount with a camera) which means taking a pic of each drawing and running them at 24 frames a second only to find out you messed up and have to redraw certain frames. Good times
Hi!! This is my first time on your channel and I'm really happy I found it! I've been a graphic, web and motion artist for the last 19 years but I've only been touching 3D for the last year or so... I was accepted at NAD university in Montreal for a full 3 year formation in 3D and special effects for movies starting at the end of this month! I can't wait!! Now that I see your amazing work you've made it pretty clear of what my dream is... Thanks for that!! Maybe one day we'll cross path in a studio or on a project! Keep your videos going and again thank you! 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
Just one tip, try and get the eyes to look in the same direction because the character is looking a little of to the side. I don’t know if I’m right, but that’s just what I noticed. Great job btw!
+Peter Kerkvliet yeah I can do that! I think my next video is going to be the lighting portion of the workflow, I'll follow that with a surfacing portion! Great suggestion, thank you! 😃
+Peter Kerkvliet oh, I almost forgot to answer the second part. I used Arnold renderer, it's built into Maya 2017 and 2018 and it's really easy to learn and use. That'll probably end up being a video too 😋
A note on the photosphere thing - you can do this with any camera or phone and a computer. There's this neat free panorama stitcher application called Hugin (for Mac/PC) that can take a bunch of photos and produce a photosphere. Obviously the more accurate you can be at keeping the lens in the same place for all your photos the better the results, but even shooting hand-held with my phone it turns out great for scene lighting.
thank you for creating such a fantastic idea! Now you have me wondering how to exactly do it! Plus you've earned a new subscriber! keep up the great work!
Cool, it wasn't a full tutorial but it did cover the bullet points, as well as letting us know what we need in order to accomplish similar results. Thank you.
Thanks for watching!! FAQ: The fact that the character and I are looking in slightly different directions was a creative choice, not a mistake- It was a more appealing pose, and also my TV is huge, so we actually are both looking at the screen :) If you're wondering about my computer setup, my background or my schooling- check out some of my other videos specifically about these topics :D And if you have any questions, video requests or ideas, please let me know down below! Thanks again!
I legit thought you were an animated character talking which you made, turned out you're a real human. Gasp. You look so cartoony like those Disney movies characters.
Thank you. That was great, although I have to disagree when you say, "It's not that difficult to do!" I can do basic stuff in raster and vector-based editing apps such as CorelDraw, GIMP, Inkscape and so on, but your work, is really accomplished stuff. I very much enjoyed the small details, such as the slight red reflection of the game controller in 'Jules' 's right hand, and the reflection of the lighting on his teeth, and of course the attention to proper shadows.
I'm glad TH-cam recommended me this video. I have interest in fiddling around with animation, cg and photoshopping. You got any tutorials coming up for a beginner like me? I'm not going professional on such stuff, just a way to learn something new and having fun during my holidays.
hi i have a question im 37 and i would like to become a 3d animator ive started teaching myself blender and next semester im planning on going to my local community college to study there 3d animation program do you have any advice
That's awesome! My advice is to find a mentor. Connect with others who are also focused and passionate- talk to your peers. Get feedback and learn from others to speed up your own education! Also check out AnimatedBuzz - it's an animation social network :)

Imagine animated movies
“Alright, next frame”
They make it CGI. Everything that the CGI character touches is modelled digitally.
Imagine how they made cartoons back in the day... mad!
3D tracking and mocap would've automated half of this process
Its different now a days

Awesome video. I love the Mya program. I also love the clear you in the corner instead of the box
You look animated, how do you do that?
Richard Ugwu what I was thinking when the video starts
Yeah, _he_ already looks like an animated character... I'm suspicious lol :p
I think he's asking how he literally looks like he's an animated character lol. Like the filter he's using or something.
Pad “an animated character” 😳😳😳
Richard Ugwu 🤦♂️

WOW! the detail in your work is awesome.!
really impressed, looks like such an amount of work to get into this.

Nemesi a nice long spanking off his mummy then some time on the naughty step
I liked it, the best real photo with a clone in animation
Only if you both were looking at the same direction(TV Screen) it would've been 💯% perfect! Brilliant job btw it still looks awesome!!
I make this things using DAZ Studio. its very simple. I put a background photo and adjust a 3D character and render. Using Maya is very complicated.
thank you for creating such a fantastic idea! Now you have me wondering how to exactly do it! Plus you've earned a new subscriber! keep up the great work!
