What was your favorite part of the process? :) What kinds of scenes, shots, or shorts should we make next? And with which tools? :D
Yo, isn't Embergen great? I've found it to be really intuitive (if you're used to node based workflows).
Also, if you want to render your composite, just mute the render layer node so you are only rendering the exr. Right click the Render Layers node and show/hide>mute.
I would love more technical stuff like this with the workflow.
Can you make a video explaining how you import the EXR layers into an editing software like Premiere, please!
Amazingggggggggg!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Thankyou!!!!!!!!! That way to create a story board really helps me!! I'm peaked now!! Thanks!! I'll put it to good use!!
Wow man that’s awesome, I would love to see you use a workflow which would be completely free (using free software, free tools, free rigs). It would be interesting too see the results 😁
the most impressive thing in this video is Sir Wades shirt collection
I think my favorite part to watch would probably be the FX. More specifically, in EmberGen. Very cool!
I will never not love Sir Wade reference footage. I need a folder full of just that ❤
when did you start being so pro at blender , i was amazed bro. proud of blender and your brain
I love your quick and casual process and how you embrace every tool.
You’re so knowledgable and chill and you’re always fun to watch 😊
I loved this process even though I couldn't stop watching the robot's left hand go through the ground when it moves backwards! The finish is also spectacular!
Yeah, this happens when a single person has to do so much work.
Really solid breakdown
This was so much fun and so well-made!
This is insane. Thank you a lot for sharing. It was really interesting to see the process of your incredible work.
My favorite part? All of it?! Every second. This was so much fun and inspiring to watch!
I'd actually love a laptop like this. Definitely in the market. If it were a thousand dollars less, I'd pull the trigger immediately.
really cool stuff. Love when creators use multiple apps to bring their vision to life
Wow. all the way. great job!
yea that ref footage is just so nice to watch
Amazing work Sir Wade! ❤
It's fun to watch you using blender. It's like you already mastered the software.
TOTALLY AMAZING SIR! Congratulations on the result :)
watching you make blender content gives me inspiration. You are right about the render pipeline. Sequencer is the timeline where you did all your animation and so. so turning it off will allow only the compositor to render. alternatively like you said in the video if you leave them both on you can do all of your compositing and render it all out at once. since 3.5 you can actually have a live compositing view in the viewport so it is even more handy. i like how you did it though, it feels more controlled. you are just Ace.
every video you make inspires me
Thats really cool!!!
Looks Great.
Well done!
Awesome breakdown man !
Very useful breakdown! 👍
Love the shirt, chest hair and honestly the laptop too 😅
Amazingggggggggg!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Thankyou!!!!!!!!! That way to create a story board really helps me!! I'm peaked now!! Thanks!! I'll put it to good use!!
i would love more videos like this, a full pass from start to finish. With explanations and or links to were we can find the info.
Great video thank you! I have the Razer blade pro 17, RTX 3080 and it’s a beast! I love mine!
too good Sir and very helpfull tips and tricks~!
Maybe adding some camera shake when getting hit from the laser and even having the camera been affected by the final hit from the robot in the end with a video distortion could have been some nice touches, but still amazing, need to look up Blender for rendering animation in the future.
Catch out real time compositing in veiwport. Very cool.
The real stars of the video are Sir Wade's shirts
careful. the robot moves with the last bullet impact before it reaches him, and the robot might be out of balance in the last shots. As u said, a small step back from the front foot would have fit perfectly. Anyways you did an amazing job and you are a such a good reference actor. Your poses and movements are really cool to be honest, i was really shocked how cool you moved.
Hey Sir Wade, would love to see a vid of you exploring Cascaduer
it's cool work process. super Thanks 🙂.
That's very cool if anything I wish the robot was actually hitting something in that scene but other then that really cool scenes.
16:10 you can use eve with 1 sample for rendering from compositor and a file output node in the compositor
I was about saying you left atmospherics out then you added it. Personally, I’m a sucker for mossy scenes
Absolutly insane. Would you ever think of offering individual teaching/classes?
I’ve been doing some classes lately :) courses.sirwade.com
This was fascinating. Thanks for doing such a deep dive. Would love to try Blender one day soon.
0:34 we've all been there... A third question I like to ask at those times is "what do i want to learn how to do?"
For the dof when working without a mist/depth pass I have used evee before to just render it out with that pass. Not an optimal workflow, but if it has to be fast it works well. Just render it out on low evee settings, ignore all passes besides depth and boom, fast depth pass
Blender's overlaid nodes is the way to go, Nuke should copy it
Animation will always be the best part. For me, I had to create a personal render farm network just so I can speed up the process of the render times. Of course, this was all for the Internal Render Engine. I would not be surprised if I am one of the few that uses 2.79b.
Not just you, 1D_Inc still does.
And why not if it still works.
Great Video. Asus scar 17 (ryzen 7950hx/4090) and HP Omen are also good priced for CC work. The kitbash is no longer on sale and the cargo sw is having problems installing the plugin on my computer, I guess just bad luck.
i think this is a smart way to do sponsored videos... i actually watched it all the way through
Not sure if you’ll see this, but where can I learn more about this “compositing” in blender. I’ve never heard of this and you’re bring that sequence to a whole new lvl! Also, where are you getting the sound clips? Those are great
I’ve build up a pretty good library of sounds over the years, with all the sound effects packs I’ve bought on Black Friday filmmaker sales 😅 Soundly is a cool software that comes with some (and has upgrades for more).
As for compositing, there’s lots of tutorials for it in software like After Effects, etc but it’s basically the “blend everything together and apply effects on top of all the layers” step in the process 😊
Love from Nepal ❤️
Hey Sir Wade, I think for compositor to not render the initial animation you have to setup your composite nodes in a separate scene. That is how I avoid the double rendering on my end. Amazing project. Really inspired buy how you integrate Maya and Blender. I am currently learning Maya and I'm starting to see the advantages of knowing both softwares.
It's actually coz he had the render layer node still active in his node tree. If you mute or delete the that node and just have the image sequence, Blender will skip the 3D scene and only do what's in the compositor.
9:53 i've run into this particle bake bug as well. i think it gets confused and drops the cache location or something.
Have you heard about Cascadeur animation software? Could you say something about it? Is it worth to learn it?
Hi Mr. Wade. I wanted to ask if ProRigs support Blender?
Love from India ❤
To not have the entire 3d scene render when compositing, just delete the (not used) render Layers node
How much minimum time should we gave to practice for animation? /
Good job man. I can't believe they got the RTX 4090 in a laptop
they didnt. Its the desktop 4080 chip thats heavily power limited compared to its desktop variant. They just call it "4090" lol.
Quick question please, thing I always get confused with is how to name my animation sequences. The naming convention I always find difficult.
Why do you prefer usd over alembic?🤔 Awesome animation work ❤❤❤
Because USD retains all the connections and the majority of your scene structure.
USD is the industry standard since quite a while now.
Alembic is just cached/baked geometries.
USD is so much faster, and so much lighter weight too :)
Did not understand the mixture of Maya and Blender. Why not everything in Maya OR Blender? was there anything Maya wasn’t capable of compared to Blender? Or the other way around? sorry if you have answered this already and i missed it.
The animation is great, but do u know that when the robot was attacked, his left hand was inserted into the floor.
How does it perform with external monitor?
Great! I plugged it into a monitor with USB C and it worked nicely, there’s also an HDMI I didn’t use
Can I ask I just saw this video now and was thinking about getting a computer that can run some Steam games since they all require Nividia, and this computer has GeForce in it but it has RTX and the games need GTX, so is RTX able to run applications that need GTX?
Yes! RTX is newer and way more powerful than GTX. To over-simplify it, RTX is ray-tracing
@@SirWade It seems like an expensive laptop. Is it more expensive then gaming computers or almost the same?
@@SirWade Also can you buy a lower RTX that will still perform good but doesn't cost so much?
I know you've been learning Blender but why did you move over to Blender in this process when you did?
I wanted to use it for everything other than animation and the EmberGen FX
✅✅✅
this new simulation program will face houdini, oh it's limited in what?
Hey sir wade! idk if you have but you should do a tutorial on how to animate something. Like how to make something move and change the face of something. go big or go home!
Ohhh the reason for particles not showing is because “it’s blender” 😂😂😂
I literally don't understand how people animate with smooth keys on XD
🙄Blender users looking at Razor and Apple making laptops for 'pros' but without number pads lol Good thing 3D navigation with mouse improved over the past years, otherwise in the past releases Blender was almost unusable without a full keyboard.
Nah bro, emulate numpad has been there since 2.5 days. Also hold alt and rotate for view snapping, also pie menu. Keypad is handy but I don't have one. Never slowed me down.
Bro, can you tell Nvidia to hook me up with this 4090 laptop. Really need an upgrade over my 1070 laptop.

razer hardware that doesn't look cringe???
Gift me this machine please 🙏
No matter how good you are Blender will always make you do mistakes. It is indicative to most non user friendly software.
how long did the final render take ?
