His limited screen time was made for a purpose. It added more to the mystery and it made every time he was on screen epic. This was the first time we saw this version of Godzilla so they wanted to make sure his presence was as impactful as possible.

yknow, this actually made me remember how many incredible shots there are in this movie (if you ignore the fact that the entire movie is pitch black). The first godzilla roar, godzilla swimming next to the ships, the second big godzilla roar, kiss of death, etc. 2014 is way better directed than I remember it being.
