GALE FORCE WINDS | Sailing the Cape of STORMS | The Southernmost Tip of Africa Ep.125

  • The fearsome coast of South Africa delivers a real challenge as we attempt to sail round Africa's southernmost tip and back into the Atlantic Ocean. The Cape of Good Hope is also known as the CAPE of STORMS and it lived up to that name, giving us big waves and gale force winds. Blasting along under storm jib alone we were in awe as we passed this major milestone on our voyage around the world and sailed into one of the most spectacular destinations we have visited.
We have been sailing around the world for 6 years after setting off from England in 2016 on board our 37ft sail boat Florence. Join us as we share the highs, lows, and challenges of travelling around the world by boat, Sailing offshore across the Oceans and exploring remote locations with our own little tiny house. Boat life out at sea on the ocean and off the grid.

Sprinting along I could feel the exhilaration and excitment. Then the apprehension and quiziness before the Cape Of Storms. Committed once again. Running along, the dreadful feeling in my gut turned back again to exhilaration as you rounded the cape and bolted toward Capetown! Whew... What a roller coaster ride! Brilliant episode, almost felt sea sick by the end! Love the rum comment, hic! Congratulations on your achievement, you should feel so and rightly proud of yourselves. What a team the three, well 4 inc The Machine, of you make!

What a superb video. Sailing south to the Cape of Good Hope! This is where I was born and where I surfed.

When "Adventures of an old Seadog" made it to his home port anti-point I had to stand up and applaud him. I did the same for you. I follow a few other sailing channels and as far as I know you are ahead of all the others who are trying to circumnavigate. Mahalo for your channel.

Amazing. The trip of a thousand life times and…and your production, the story telling and the emotion.
    Thank you
