I get where you're coming from, I personally liked season 9-11, especially season 9 and 10, they're some of my favourite seasons, but it's such a shame that the show took such a big nose-dive in season 7-8 and that many people left after that, thanks to Gimple's writing and decision making.
Whether you want to give the rest of the series a chance again or not is totally up to you and valid either way, though. I just want to let you know that it does get better and that I would recommend it :)

I don't know why but I found the first half of S8 kind of confusing. At times I didn't know what some of the characters were doing. It might have something to do with being stoned. But honestly I felt too much was happening

It’s been a while since I watched TWD so I restarted it this year, cause why not. I think people stopped watching it after season 7 episode 1. That one was so brutal. I don’t understand why any one wants to torture themselves as they watch their favorite characters be humiliated, tortured, harassed, sexually assaulted, mutilated, or die. Just the worst. Also after that season 6, TWD just stared to drag. I am thankful I’ve started to watch this series way later in life, because I’m curious to know how everything unfolds but I don’t want to see terrible things happen in the only hour I have after work to watch Netflix. So these recaps have been a god send. Great job guys.
They did that to show how horrible negan was I think. Which worked. I also am barely catching up after Season 8 episode 8 lol.
For me, it was totally the opposite. I'm a hardcore TWD comic fan, and S07E01 alone (together with season 6 finale) is what got me hooked. We haven't seen major character dying for a long time, I think since Lori's death in season 3. Obviously there were brutal scenes here and there (like Rick slaying the "claimers" in the woods or the Terminus crew in Gabriel's church), but nothing which would be on par with the comic. S07E01 was the first time when I thought it's getting good. It's different when you have gore-like expectations after reading the comic.

to be fair. zombie theory dictates they can bypass their natural physical limitations. In real life (living) our bodies have a limiter that controls the amount of strength/power we have at our disposal as not to destroy them. However, the undead have bodies if which destroyed wont fail. hence the limit breaking. There have been known instances where mothers have lifted things many times their own weight, beyond their physical abilities just to save their children. Also PCP does this in a way. Now consider, hypothetically the zombies (with rotted away lips, exposed teeth, poor dental hygiene and clumsy feet) trip (many times) on their faces, easily breaking teeth into sharp broken bits. Bam! its possible..

Please - nobody argue that in reality, a tiger would have no desire to sacrifice itself to save a human. I get that.

First half of season 8 was the worst Walking Dead has been so far.....but I hope it gets better, cause I thought the same way about first half of season 4 and it got hell lot better during 2nd half.
Carl getting bit is soo stupid on so many levels.
Killing a season 1 character off of a phantom zombie bite, a character of his magnitude deserves a more noble death.
The fight that lead to that bite was unnecessary, and Carl been fighting zombies for years, but can handle a few distracted Walkers?
They said Carl's death will change Rick, but in the comics, they did it without killing Carl, so it seems random.
ANd they way it seemed to play out, is disrespectful to Chandler Riggs.
Gimple saying they want him for 3 more seasons only to kill him off that season. It seems since his contract was up and he turned 18, AMC didnt wanna pay him adult money, so they took the cheap route.
It wasn't a "phantom" bite. We see it happen when he is stuck on top of that deer carcass in the woods with Siddiq. You see the walker lean down to his abdomen, and then after Carl gets up, he looks down at his bite, the bite being off camera.
It being off camera is why I called it a phantom bite, also considering that you most likely wont notice it when it happens. It is what I consider, a phantom bite.

Daryl's cell was in the Sanctuary. The place where he and Rick were at was just another outpost, so that couldn't have been his "old home". It was just something similar that reminded him of his cell.

This video is inaccurate: The guy Daryl shot wasn't Minkus. Minkus was shot earlier in the episode when Aaron, Eric and the gang drove up in the armored cars. Also, Michonne wasn't with Daryl and Tara when they rammed the truck into the Sanctuary. She went back to Alexandria.

Apologies but you’re wrong. Lee Norris aka Minkus was killed by Daryl in the exact moment we showed him being killed by Daryl. Not only do we know cuz we made the show but because he talks about it in his episode of Happy Hour when he came by the office to have a cocktail :)
Also as Garmen stated michonne was with rosita until they met up with Daryl and Tara and did not return to Alexandria until we see her do so afterwards.

Skybound i think the RV that they blowed up should have made enough noise to attract the herd, they didint need to waste around one thousand bullets. also they wouldnt even need the herd to come if they just killed Negan and his leutnants when they had the chance.
Skybound I think there are smarter ways to attract the herd, it's not like they have an unlimited amount of bullets(eventhough it looks like they do).

To be fair I didn’t think this was the worst season... but what kinda ruined the show for me was Carl’s death. Like I cried when Glenn passed but I understood why it happened since it did in the comics. But Carl’s death was unnecessary and really a bad pay off to 8 season of his character. In a way it ruined the show a bit for me. Since if he was still alive in the newest seasons it would have been so cool. And the show would have been much better in its later seasons.
