I love it when the youtuber skips the important stuff if removing the tenssioner.I mean that's why we are here. 😂 boom it's out magic.

Just a thought, but it would have been interesting to see you properly rotate the crank bolt, and see/hear the tensioner plunger pop out while you had the valve cover off.

You didn’t turn the crank shaft clockwise at least one revolution to release the tensioner from the hock I don’t know how is that works for you

Problem solved. However engine noise is more than it should be

Great video. Easy to follow. So what if the removal of the tensioner wasn't shown. The location was shown and explained it's 2 10mm bolts. If you can't work it out you probably shouldn't be in the engine bay. Thankyou

I bought a 2003 camry it makes the same sound when it warms up a bit jw if it makes the noise right away when you start it or it takes a little bit of time for it to make the noise?

If you not want yo show how you work about this tensioner completely, why do that.

can you replace tensioner without removing valve cover?

valve cover is easier than the tensioner just remove it to repair the chain.

      how would that be possible?

To diagnose, valve cover has to be removed.
Unless you are certain that it is the tensioner, then you dont have to remove valve cover. Can be done without removing valve cover. Just rotate the crank shaft clock wise about half turn..

Hey guys, I just changed the tensioner on the same car, but the noise did not go away completely. I noticed that the timing chain is tight on the tensioner side, but loose in the exhaust side. Anyone know what this might be? Maybe a loose chain? Thank You!

Sounds like a worn chain usually when you change one timing component you should change belt idler pulley tensioner and water pump

Did the noise go away when the engine is warm. Also how much do they charge to fix this. On average.
