    Great video. Very informative and I clearly understand everything You are saying and explaining. I have 2006 Camry, same engine, 213,000 miles. I'm not sure if Timing Chain has ever been replaced. Thinking about trying to replace it Myself, or find someone like You I can trust to replace it. How much do You think a shop would charge for this job? I'm in Huntsville Alabama. Thanks for the Video

      hi and thanks for the visit, may be around $500 but it will depend on the area, it is a big job, if you can do it then you would save some money it is not hard at all it just takes some time to do it and do it right, God bless you and your Family as well.

    What sealant did you use on the timing belt cover that you waited 24 hours before installing cover on engine? I was thinking about PERMATEX ULTRA BLACK RTV SILICONE GASKET MAKER - the instructions say to put the cover on immediately and other recommend letting it dry 15-30 minutes before installing.

    • @JM-AUTO
      @JM-AUTO  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      i used ultra black gasket maker, in my expewrience if you put it to soon after putting the gasket maker it might or it might not leak, if you lucky nothing is going to happen. i have seen some guys redoing the job again for not waiting enough time, also if it does not leak inmediately it might leak in near future.

      @@JM-AUTO Thanks. I was planning to just remove the Timing Chain Cover to get to a broken stud that I can't get to easily with the cover on - it's the bottom stud/nut that holds the strut Serpentine Belt Tensioner. However, the car (2004 Camry) has 351,000 miles on it so I was thinking about replacing the timing chain since I'm in there. Is there a way to tell if by looks or measurement if it should be replaced?

    On my 2002 Camry 2.4 the crank timing mark using the chain when lined up with the dot to the seem on the crank case. When that is lined up the piston is not at TDC, (just by looking at the piston with the head removed). When I install the Timing chain cover and Pulley the pulley mark when lined up with 0 degree TDC then the piston is at TDC. Any thoughts what would cause this? Thank You

    • @JM-AUTO
      @JM-AUTO  6 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      remember when piston #1 is at tdc, it will always have some play that you can play back and forward, you can live the piston within that blank space even if you dont see it exactly at 0 degrees at tdc but that is fine, since piston one is still within the blank space at tdc, may be that is your issue othere wise every thing should lineup. you can move the piston back n forward within that blank space n you will see that the crankshaft will not move but once u pull the piston out of the small blank space then the crankshaft will start moving toghether with the piston.

    I have some slack in the chain in-between the two camshaft gears after I remove the washers, is this normal? All my timing marks line up

    • @JM-AUTO
      @JM-AUTO  26 วันที่ผ่านมา +1

      not really, if it is very very minimum you can get a way with it but other than that it is better to double check, unless cam gears are kind of worn out or timing chain is after market n it has some discrepancy but very very minimum should be ok with all timing marks lining up

    • @JM-AUTO
      @JM-AUTO  5 วันที่ผ่านมา

      may be you are unlucky or this is a coincedence because I don't see why the throttle b would have any thing to do with doing timing chain except if you took it out n did some thing wrong or there are leaky injectors or throttle b has gone bad, fuel pressure regulator.

    • @jondudas2349
      @jondudas2349 5 วันที่ผ่านมา

      When cranking the engine, naturally the intake will suck air into the throttle body. But it's pushing air out. Took oil cap off and set it on top without twisting it back in, and while cranking it blew the oil cap up and off
