thanks I did a Google search its a n/c momentary(normally closed) switch thats a continuous ground and your breaking the ground when pushed an released. thanks for the video tip.
+Ashauni Samuels the safety on the head unit requires a "double pulse" to activate. More of an on-off-on. Wiring to illumination has worked in the past but does not work anymore.
ok sorry, may seem a dumb question but let me see if I got this right. I need an on-off toggle switch, hook the green wire from the deck to the power on the switch, then the ground to the negative on the switch? (avh4100-nex)

Bad boys II great selection
do you connect the both green wires and then add another wire going to a ground or the black wire ?
You can also ground it in the illumination wire if you hooked it up

Doesn't the HU's on-screen bypass method work on this HU?

yes
Did you have ta get a different mounting bracket or did it just fit right in?
jimmy waters I used a radio install dash kit, available from anywhere that sells car audio
will this work for avh-2300nex?
Noice. But you should have shown exactly what wires you're talking about an actually show them.
I get the ok button but can't click on what I need to do
Are you aware of any changes that would exist in the set-up for the AVH-4200NEX?
no i am not aware. but should be all the same
so u still have to pull the ebrake even with the switch
no
+Rudy Rivera no you do not. I just happen to use my parking break
can you make a vid showing which wire exactly?
do you want to know which is the parking break wire or the ground wire?
+Jamie Burkitt sure. mine is going into a 2014 dodge ram pickup. not sure if its going to much different from yours
+Jose Vasquez sorry. which is the parking break wire. i misread that.
+Jose Vasquez the green wire in the radio harness (the one supplied by pioneer) it's really long and bright green, you can't miss it
+Jamie Burkitt thanks
is the push button switch n/o or n/c
i have no idea
N/O
is that a momentary switch or a on and off switch?
it's an on-off-on switch
Awesome. Thanks for the fast reply! I'm doing this on a avhx2800bs.
+Dustin N. you're welcome, should be easy on that one too
+Jamie Burkitt. Alright so simple as green wire to switch then from switch to ground? that should enable the dimming option correct?
+Dustin N. i think you mean brake bypass, if so, yes
