Many thanks riffties. Yep, I have a few more coming regarding Buddy, and also, other key names in the story/background to Buddy/The Crickets. Websitec coming soon too, with profiles on them all and info etc. Thanks for watching :-)
Enjoyed the video,I also think Buddy really liked Mickey and Sylvia, with that melodic sound in Love is Strange, and it influenced Words of Love,Listen to Me and Its so Easy and maybe a few more. Thanks for video.🎸
Yep. And there is a definite feel/vibe between Mickey & Sylvia's "Dearest"to Buddy's "Listen To Me". Similar chord progression and the lead fills too, I can see/hear how Buddy came up with the ideas/elements in Listen To Me and Words of Love.
Very informative! Thanks for sharing. I love the guitar solo on Honey Honey and can't argue with it being the best in technical terms that Buddy ever did, but my favorite will easily remain the one Buddy did on Sherry Davis' record, "Broken Promises".
He was just so damn good Matthew, wasn't he ?! Apparently, he was also learning or took an interest in Flamenco guitar when he lived in NY. I personally feel he was heading into movies and would have scored for major films. He was taking acting lessons, had Pro photos done, and worked with String Orchestras. That would have set him on his new path in music. I think his session work on other artists songs were great, he was free to concentrate on them without singing himself. My other fav is Honky Tonk, which is exceptional. Jazz-Blues.

Absolutely great video, would love if you could post more of these informative videos about things people often overlook when discussing Buddy.
