Appart from slipping myself in at about #4 you cant really take away,-only add .Certainly Peter Green,(BB thaught him the best),and maybe Billy Gibbons,he's been around the block A few times.
For me Eric is the finest blues guitar player, #1 without a doubt. Eric has the gift of being able to channel emotion & feeling through his playing, and when it’s the blues talking, that is what you want. Albert ‘Iceman’ Collins was also a superb blues player.
John Mayer, leader of his own Blues band JM3, Best attributes numerous, cannot be left off of any 'Blues Men' list where B.B. King (#2), Buddy Guy (#3), and Eric Clapton (#5) are listed. All three have played beside, lauded and applauded him, it's documented. He's one of the best, most unsung 'Blues runs the game' men ever and that's saying a lot. Nonetheless, he is in good company with other greats that were also not named
Is Stevie Vaughn an absolute blues player? Maybe he is, but I would say the top has to go to bb king or Clapton. Clapton is purely misunderstood and mistaken from his capabilities. Clapton is judged from his 70s hits, that's not Clapton, that's drunk Clapton. I have observed each era he has played and for me, he is the best blues player. It's not about technique or speed, but feel, he has the best feel. Just my opinion.
@@Steve-yz4fgno, he isn't. Listen to Derek and the Dominoes live, 24 Nights or the Nothing But The Blues film. There's only a handful that have ever been close in terms of phrasing, control and tension.
Sorry but lists like this make no sense. Listen to Scott Henderson's Tore down house album for instance. How can you not include him based on that album? Music is not a sport with quantifiable results where you can rank people.
What would you change on this list?👇
The order, Albert Collins is a far better blues man than Gary Moore, Bonamassa for example.
Agree
Peter Green should be in the top 5!! Derek Trucks + Muddy Waters don't belong. What about Duane Allman and Freddie King

Great video. I really love how you included what their best attribute is! Not enough rankings list what the player is especially good at
I've never seen a top 10 list that I agreed with
John Mayer is all of those put together
My good fortune to have seen Albert Collins, Muddy Waters, Eric Clapton, Buddy Guy and BB King. All were amazing.

Number 2 and 3 would agree with me about Eric❤
The slide players should have their own list

100% Clapton and bb have to be top 2
Clapton is the most overrated guitar player in the history of guitar playing.
