In the end, he regrets showing is true self, showing his honour and knowing he couldn’t do anything else. He lived as a someone who wanted power more than everything but died as a samurai with the honour of having a fight with another dragon
But they didn't. He appears again as a playable character in Yakuza Dead Souls. I believe the series and dead souls belongs to the same era because at the first cutscene (in dead souls) Goda speaks with someone from the Omi and they talking about the fight Goda and Kiryu had in yakuza 2. So I don't think he died.
@@RaphSwordRetro"He's Kiryu but" sure seems to be the theme for his rivals. Nishiki (Kiryu but neglected by Kazama and his clan), Ryuji (Kiryu but didn't get the values taught to him), Mine (Kiryu but he had no one in his life to turn it around), and maybe even others fit in this category.

Kiryu doesn’t get into any romantic relationships because his Yakuza life always catches up with him. He always loses somebody he loves dearly. To the newcomers of the Yakuza series, you’ll see that his loss just keeps on getting worse, no matter how much he tries his best to atone for his mistakes.

@@daaayumsun4028 3 months late yeah I know, but the only Yakuza games to have more than 1 style were 0 an Kiwami 1 (the OG Y1, like the rest of the series, still only has the Dragon of Dojima style). The only other games that had more than 1 "fighting style" were Y4 and Y5 and that was due to having multiple characters, Kiryu and everyone else still had only 1 style. Why? Well, because in 0 Kiryu still is very, very unrefined in terms of combat and the Brawler, Rush and Beast styles were later refined into the one and only Dragon of Dojima style. As for Kiwami 1 having the 3 styles + DoD, I guess it's because Kiryu just came out of jail and has forgotten his signature style (but that's restored either way by the Majima Everywhere system). Honestly, the only thing I despise about the series is how they retconned this relationship. A real kick in the nuts when kiryu says yumi is the only woman he’s loved at the start of Y6
The amount of shit this dude can take, a stabbing, beating up two feral tigers, getting shot twice after a fight, only to promptly get up and start boxing again, and then survives an exploding building. Like, what the fuck??
She just leaves Kiryu the next day for the USA in Yakuza 3, lol. Y2's ending was interesting when it first came out because it was a cliffhanger ending, it was made to look as if Kiryu & Kaoru died in each other's arms, but then Y3 happened.
People talk about various things there but can we stop a little and look at Takashima and his gun especially. He shoot more than twelve times and still doesn't reload his gun IN CUTSCENE IN KIWAMI THAT HAVE MORE DETAILS THAN ORIGINAL SECOND GAME. Either devs forget about this or Takashima secretly god of bullets
I kinda hate this ending. The fight was awesome, the twists were great but this is one of the only times I saw Kiryu give up his life, he gave up on Haruka. Yes he was dying but it didnt seem like they tried. They said they let Haruka down but they said it so easily that I cant see that they cared. Instead of trying to do anything, they kiss. It caught me off guard.
This is probably gonna catch me some flack, but: The new music (SiM - The Sound of Breath) fits the kiss/bomb scene SO much fucking better than the original song from the PS2 game.
Can someone explain to me how Terada survived getting shot in the heart and having a 0 heartrate in the beginning of the game? Isn't this just a major plot hole?
It's not the same. The thing about the two Kazukis is that they had two different voices, which makes sense. This is still the same Terada. The game quite clearly says this is the same Terada as well. They never explain how he survived literally dying in front of Kiryu. It bothers me so much and ruins an otherwise great plot.
IMO The series should have stopped following Kiryu after this game, this would have been the perfect note for him to go out on. Instead they had to drag the poor guy through four more games. :P

My favorite ending. Just had a little bit of everything ❤️
"Live. You boys are still young. Don't waste your lives. Live."
Honestly, the only thing I despise about the series is how they retconned this relationship. A real kick in the nuts when kiryu says yumi is the only woman he’s loved at the start of Y6
I just want to congratulate you guys in the comments real quick for how good you are at spoilering what happens with Kaoru.
Good god
Ryuji screaming at full force and just tanking bullets has to be the most empowering shit ever
The hell of an ending twist!
The amount of shit this dude can take, a stabbing, beating up two feral tigers, getting shot twice after a fight, only to promptly get up and start boxing again, and then survives an exploding building. Like, what the fuck??
Kiryu and Kaoru: were a thing in 2/K2
Kaoru: aight imma head to the States.
Kiryu: my only love is Yumi..
Me: so Kaoru just didnt exist?
5:50 its been 3 years since we first heard this soundtrack so someone please provide a high quality version already
Don't think it's possible bc I think the cutscenes are premade movies
@@XEM_Ajax damn

What’s the song originally from? What scene from Yakuza 0 I mean?
@@thequalitycomedian7842 final scene with tachibana
What the hell kind of rounds are these guns loaded with? Get shot multiple times and still able to give long ass speeches, let alone still fight!
You really disrespected my man Ryuji by using weapons in the final fight?
What's the OST at 5:32 called? Its soooooooo gooooood!!
,,Oath of the dying,, from Yakuza 0 😔
looking back kiryu and kaoru should've banged
Damn he just made an awesome fight a shitshow
I had lost count on how many twist and turns the villains and heroes keep on one upping each other on this segment
Owww Kiryu and Kaoru finally together in the end 😍
She just leaves Kiryu the next day for the USA in Yakuza 3, lol. Y2's ending was interesting when it first came out because it was a cliffhanger ending, it was made to look as if Kiryu & Kaoru died in each other's arms, but then Y3 happened.
really so the original game didnt have the ending after the credit with them knowing the bomb was never going to blow and they both live
@@cuong619 yeS
@@BoozeAholic That's what we get when they change the person who was in charge of the script
owww indeed imagine hand inside gun wound
Man as soon as Oath of Death played I knew one Dragon was gonna die, what an epic fight.
that man used that gun so many times, without reloading
People talk about various things there but can we stop a little and look at Takashima and his gun especially. He shoot more than twelve times and still doesn't reload his gun IN CUTSCENE IN KIWAMI THAT HAVE MORE DETAILS THAN ORIGINAL SECOND GAME. Either devs forget about this or Takashima secretly god of bullets
this guy is a such pro.
Bernard Calibour sarcasm at its finest lol
tachibana's death theme really makes the intro to this fight
I kinda hate this ending. The fight was awesome, the twists were great but this is one of the only times I saw Kiryu give up his life, he gave up on Haruka. Yes he was dying but it didnt seem like they tried. They said they let Haruka down but they said it so easily that I cant see that they cared. Instead of trying to do anything, they kiss. It caught me off guard.
There is no giving up on life if you're convinced that you're going to die anyway.
It's a pity that Kaoru doesn't appear in other parts of the yakuza game. I wish Kiryu was with Kaoru
C'mon man, if you kept spamming tauriners and heatmoves then just cut the fight out. There's no point watching a bad fight like this
This is probably gonna catch me some flack, but: The new music (SiM - The Sound of Breath) fits the kiss/bomb scene SO much fucking better than the original song from the PS2 game.
Nah, you right. The original song felt like it was waaayayyyy out of place lol.
The only reason the original song kinda fit was that it was around Christmas
7force does it?
who else had some shopping with Fire Katanas in the Weapon shop before goin up? lol
and didnt end up using any against the final ryuji fight
Quite possibly the best part of the Yakuza series. All games of the series are awesome, but nothing comes close to Yakuza 2. ESPECIALLY this part.
Can someone explain to me how Terada survived getting shot in the heart and having a 0 heartrate in the beginning of the game? Isn't this just a major plot hole?
Remember the two Kazukis, and one of them was fake?
Probably that. It's the Koreans after all. Plastic surgery and whatnot.
I just thought that the monitors on the ambulance were made to flatline (the paramedics could have been Jingweon)
But again, the game never explains this. Hence the plothole and my frustrations with an otherwise great plot.
@@asimb0mb the paramedic never gave him cpr. I thought that was weird in the beginning. So he probably is jingweon.
IMO The series should have stopped following Kiryu after this game, this would have been the perfect note for him to go out on. Instead they had to drag the poor guy through four more games. :P
And they still brought him after 6
This man really recorded and uploaded the video on the same date as the release date of the game.
31:03 does ryuji mean “ i see how my sister fell for you” translation seems shit to me
Why?
metal fox 913 ITA doesn’t make sense on the subtitles part
I see that english is not your main language. He meant the exact same thing like what you said.
???
28:47 mans rlly said “Make health: ♾”
Man, I hope Kiryu returns in the sequel ☹️
This game have so many plot twist
Ending of Kiwami is stupid with all those doubtful twists, however overall the game is great
5:40 tHE SONG PLEASE
32:17 sounds a little like Four Faith
This video has full scene of final boss but lacks of fight cause of using weapons, while other vid doesn't have full scene but has more in fight cause of only using fists
Goddamn it. Now I gotta buy a PS4 to play Yakuza 3 and find out what happens.
nah 3-5 remastered are coming to pc/xbox
@@bluevolt2014 I know, this was before that was announced
I download yakuza 3 on gamepass and played the first few minutes and uninstalled. I'm gonna pretend kiwami 2 is the ending.
Yakuza 8: kiryu fights handsome american cop and brings kaoru home had a son named ryuji kiryu, grew up and became yakuza with double dragon on his back XD jk
And with this, Kiryu has taken, like, 4 bullets in total?
That was sad the bit between brother and sister..
Too bad Kiryu and Kaoru’s relationship never went anywhere later in the series. Like they just moved on like it was nothing.
U need to learn to use you're hands more often. That fight was weak.
5:30 what song is that?
,,Oath of the dying,, from Yakuza 0 😔
What is the OST that starts playing at 5:30 ?
,,Oath of the dying,, from Yakuza 0 😔
I see that Kiryu was an teenager looks so..................FUCKING COOL!
27:55- KAORU NO!!!
As someone who didn't play the games, how did both of them not die from the explosion?
I want kaoru and kiryu to have kids
I feel bad for you.
Kiryu has haruka and the other kids he good
Dude you took majority of his health bars using just weapons and burner. Talk about being a coward...
I'd like to think after 6 he went to be with her..
But he's in yakuza 7 so idk
Sadly 3 implies that Kaoru cheated on him
