I have the vmdk file but when I try to select it, it doesn't show up in the folder, instead it says select ISO image. But there is no ISO image as this is a vmdk I am trying to install in Virtual Box. How do I fix this issue ?

OK thanks, installs fine, but Kali VM and Metasploit VM have the same IP addresses. so each will ping themselves just fine. Don't they each need different ones??

Yeah! And let me guess. Your IP is 10.0.2.15? If it's like that, it means you are doing NAT. Try using "Bridge Network" or create a "NAT Network." I hope this helps!

You need to look into the network settings for Virtual Box. Maybe it's set as NAT

Check network setting. Try creating a NAT so the machines can ping each other. They should be in the same subnet. ex: 10.10.2.30 and 10.10.30.x. -Pn has no effect on Metasploitable2 since it's insecure.
