I am a diabetic type 1 and I tried for one month the raw vegan diet. I was eating fruits and raw salads. And almost one month passed and I felt the urged to eat beans, chickpeas, lentils, brocoli, sweet potatoes and my health and blood sugar improved one million times more. My sugar is stable and I have energy for many hours.
There are actually alot of ppl living frugivore, fruitarian, raw vegan.. just on Facebook alone there are multiple groups. Most along the terrain theory.
Raw food diets are much easier to maintain if one lives in the Southern Hemisphere. I really struggle with all raw living in Seattle. Living in California Central Coast region I thrived on all raw. Many variables are involved: location, climate, and raw plant food access in Winter. I was hungry eating all raw in Winter when I lived in Philadelphia. Guess everyone needs to find a healthy balance maintenance plan for each season. Live and learn. Thank you for your always fascinating perspective.
Sprouted lentils in a cheap $20 mason jar sprouting kit for the countertop solves the legume issue! Love my sprouted lentils and sprouted chickpeas. Food to Live has a lot of sproutables. Lentils sprout almost 100% germination rate.
Raw rules. Sprout your lentils. Eat your seeds and nuts. Absolutely no need to spend all day eating. And yes, there are a lot of people eating a relatively high fat raw diet. I love this guy but he’s really not very well informed about raw vegan diets so he doesn’t quite do Justice to this subject. But the 50% metric isn’t bad. Personally, I like about 80% raw and find it does wonders.
You can eat most root vegetables in raw form. Only starchy tubers like potatoes are toxic. And some of them like sweet potatoes are edible in raw form. You can sprout most seeds like grains and legumes and incorporate into raw plant diet.
Mango Wodzak and Anne Osborne have eaten a strictly fruit only diet for over 20 years and dont take any supplements, truely inspirational, the most friendly diet possible, if peace is the way we choose to evolve, fruitarian is simply an extension to that
Strong words. Great ideas about streaming and hydrating. I am raw vegan 60%-70% but I got to have the beans. I love beans satisfy my hunger and protein. And I’m doing very bad on fruits. They are making me faster because the high sugar. Sugar is sugar. Maybe 20, 30 & somehow 40 I could eat more sugar, but in 50 years old it is way too much sugar. We can hydrate or steam vegetables. Loves it. 🌟♾💙
In find that after I bought a cheap mason jar/filter lid sprouting kit and began sprouting organic red lentils, green lentils, organic garbanzo/chickpeas for that problem solved!! Sprouted lentils keep well on the coutertop for several days in the fridge for a bit longer. I add them to everything including Raw Hummus/Raw Tahini Wraps and salads and all kinds of things. Enjoy!
My stomach can not handle a raw food vegan diet. I find most salad greens to be very acidic for my stomach. I was diagnosed with h pylori a few years ago and my stomach has never been the same. I eat mostly cooked vegan foods with a combination of raw foods. I love my salads ,nuts, oatmeal ,grains and fresh fruits. 💪🌾🍌🍉🍇🍅🥝🥬🥒🌶🌽🥑🥦🥕🍠🥔🧅🧄🍓🍋🍎
There needs to be a lot more research on this topic. There aren't any definitive studies yet that prove that one is better than the other or that raw vegans are living longer than non raw. But then there is whole food raw that don't use spices herbs or tea or juice(natural raw) and those that do so they would have to be separated. It is true raw food people have to have bigger quantity of food like 3 pounds of watermelon, 5 small apples, 7 bananas and 1 oz of walnuts etc, while it sounds like a lot it'd doable. But ya it's coming out the other end sooner so you might use restroom a few times a day. It's not as difficult as it sounds to have 3 pounds of watermelon and 7 or 9 bananas but for those that don't wanna have 2x the volume of food going in it could be a problem. Even if a study shows that non raw have this or that more or less blood result, does it matter... show me studies that matter like who's getting more cancers and who's living longer. There is no motivation to do these studies apparently.
And some other pounts, most of us don't exercise enough to justify 2000 calories a day, and we know the evidence for calorie restriction 1700 a day or so allowing us to live longer, and raw vegans also make the argument if babies triple in size on 2% protein mothers milk then an adult can do just fine on 2-3% of calories from protein and that current RDA protein is due to faulty rat protein need and lobbying by the dairy and meat industry, that it isn't based on real science. Soem food for thought there.
400,000 years of cooking foods, your gut is probably not adapted to raw foods only anymore taking in consideration that even the micro-biome changes in less than 24h.
Raw vegan folk like Paul Nison are living in a bubble. I just had chicken of the woods mushroom for dinner, if I didn't cook it would cause extreme gastrointestinal upset. Like many other foods that need to be cooked, why would God create them and say not to eat them makes no sense at all yet Nisan is a hardcore christian.
Paul NISSON living in a bubble? He has done tons of research - over decades! Whatever he is doing is working for him. & for some others as well. What better evidence can there be than all those folk living healthy after DECADES of eating raw foods/fruitarian diet. And have you noticed the individuals who have made it into Guinness Book of Records as oldest living individuals EVER - are omnivores who eat moderately? Not one vegan or raw FOODER, actually. But for me, those individuals who are still thriving in their 80s & 90S as raw fooders or fruitarians are my examples.
@@patnewson6908 Cool good for them, but it still defies all logic and evolution to eat just raw food when I have used an example already of a food that needs to be cooked before consumption. Why restrict, when are gut micro biome is designed for as much diversity as possible. That is the ultimate hands down diet!
I think, If U want to lose unwanted extra weight, Raw food vegan diet is the way to go, but like the Doctor said, only temporary -- fast only allowing yourself RAW fruits and veggies.

You can juice potatoes and sweet potatoes. Also lentils and chickpeas can be sprouted.

It doesn't have to be one or the other. A combination of both can be tried. Do what feels best for YOU.
85% Raw and I have never felt better in my life. You can eat raw, just have one meal that is beans
Ahhh the question of all questions!! I like that the doc said at least 50% that’s a great start. Being a Raw Vegan has definitely changed my life!
It’s actually not a given that a raw food diet is high fat. I follow an 80/10/10 diet most of the time and it’s high raw vegan (about 85%). ✌🏻💚

Not being petty but can you explain what % of fat is acceptable being raw vegan and how it's been observed by a persons cholesterol levels?

Raw Beets and carrots! Delicious healthy raw root vegetables!
In order to eat cooked food (long term), u have to use salt and spices
As always, Michael Klaper is brilliant. What a fabulous speaker 🌱💚🌱
Good video and a balanced, informed approach to the subject. Thank you.
I love the balanced answer.
Great information as always the way you explain everything is awsome thanks 😀

Greens are the opposite of acidic. They are the best with building up the gut flora after h pylori and antibiotics
Have you never heard of a DEHYDRATOR???
Million dollar question 🙌🏻🍌🥭🌽🥦🍝
My FAVORITE Doctor ❤️❤️❤️❤️
Dr. K for president
Raw Intuition he would have my vote

Thank you for your thoughts on this subject.
He’s hanging his coat on cooked foods studies
Many raw vegans eat beans and lentils. They just sprout them first.
Please check out John rose on TH-cam

@Peter Rabbit I asked you a long time ago if you watch John Rose..I believe you said no...have you checked him out yet? You'll thank me later 😂
@Peter Rabbit he's a 65 year old raw vegan..he's got tons of videos on juice fasting. He's pretty darn impressive ☺️
@Unknown Freedom get ibs from raw or cooked?

Being raw vegan only temporary.. have you ever watched Markus Rothkranz videos. He has been a raw foodie for most of his life. Check it out.
