A bigger battery should make the 2025 Mercedes-Benz EQS electric sedan go farther. The regenerative braking system has also been updated, and the car now looks more like the top-of-the-line S-Class full-size sedan, Mercedes announced last week.
The EQS is a fully electric version of the classy S-Class. It came out for the 2022 model year and has a hatch instead of a trunk. In 2023, 6,688 EQS cars were sold, which is about half of the S-Class sedans that Mercedes sold. To help close the gap, Mercedes will replace the 108-kwh battery pack with a 118-battery pack, which means the battery pack will have 9% more power. We don't know yet if that will mean a longer range than the 352 miles that the 2024 EQS 450+ with a single motor and rear-wheel drive can go.
