I've been scouring the internet on how to setup the Midas for playback and finally found your video. Thanks for putting this together. Really helped me out a ton.

So I did this and it worked great with the exception of an odd issue I had when I enabled the Tape Return (Pro2c console). 8-10 channels had peaked out static after I stopped playback. If I go to each channel and undo the tape return connection and reconnect it, the static goes away. Then if I hit play and stop it again, the static comes back. Any ideas?

Hey thanks for the video...very helpful. I'm considering going this direction with my pro 6. Couple questions: you mentioned it wouldn't work with a network to USB adapter...in wondering how you knew this? I'd need to use a thunderbolt to network adapter on my MacBook... also in curious as to your monitoring solution for the recording? How are you doing this for headphones or near field monitors...? Thanks!

Hey I purchased the KT Dante 64 with the Dn9650. For some reason I can't get the NETWORK light to turn green on the DN9650 with having the Dante 64 installed? I am trying to make our church Midas pro 2 work with the Aviom Monitor System and I think this is the solution. You think you can help or anyone here? Thank You!

Great Video. Thanks. Do you by chance have a diagram of your connections. You talked about it but did not show the actual connections. Thanks.

+MaticSounds Thanks, I'm glad you enjoyed the video. Unfortunately, I don't have a diagram of the physical connections, but it's pretty straight. If you can figure out how to hook up a Pro series console (surface, engine, stage IO) then you can hook up a DN9560.

We have a very similar setup but with with a Pro2 and 2 DL231s. Have you ever experienced a random signal loss or a pop noise during a virtual sound check? My MacBook doesn’t show any signs of slowing down and my outputs from our DN9650 to DM8000 will lose its output path in Dante while my MacBook is plugged in.

Hey. Recording to a DAW and the audio engineer starts to move faders and gain trim will this affect my audio input into Logic?

Midas in Pro 3 or PRO's two connect two stedzh DL251 box and converter Clark technician DN 9650 for multi-track recording - when there is in the PRO 3 has only 3 Aes 50 sockets ? After two DL251 already requires 6 Aes50 + DN9650 3 more aes50)

+halim alimov The Pro3/6/9 control surface requires a DL371 processor (separate box) which has 8 AES50 ports. You can see more in this video: th-cam.com/video/B6c55zpOywk/w-d-xo.html

hey man! i got a MIDAS Pro2c console, i want to record from the Pro2c to the laptop, i got pro tools! what cable would i need to connect from the pro2c to the latop?

    • @AVdud

It wouldn't be all that different from what is shown in the video. You need a way for Midas AES50 to talk with your laptop. I'm sure there are other ways to make it happen, but the one demonstrated in this video is the only one I'm knowledgeable in.

Actually Pro Tools is the least friendly program to accomplish this MADI feed to computer. It will require Pro Tools HD software and an Avid HD MADI interface. Then you will need an interface from your computer to the MADI IO. The HD Native interface provides a Thunderbolt connection to your computer and two Digilinks to the HD MADI IO. Last I checked, this is an investment of roughly $7,500. Such is life in the Pro Tools world. Other DAWs are much more IO-friendly.
