    hello ! Small question, when you are in the flip mode for your aux sends, do you still have to lift the aux master

    I've been scouring the internet on how to setup the Midas for playback and finally found your video. Thanks for putting this together. Really helped me out a ton.

      So I did this and it worked great with the exception of an odd issue I had when I enabled the Tape Return (Pro2c console). 8-10 channels had peaked out static after I stopped playback. If I go to each channel and undo the tape return connection and reconnect it, the static goes away. Then if I hit play and stop it again, the static comes back. Any ideas?

    Great video, I have a question. The sound is impecable but I feel the gain on every channel is very low. Even when I put the entrance gain to the max to reach 0dB. I know this video is old but I hope you can see it. Thanks from Argentina.

    Hello! Thanks for the interesting video! When I want to connect my midas venice u16 console via USB to my PC, a message pops up that the driver is outdated and is not a Win10 driver. What to do, where to get the driver for Win10?

    We have a very similar setup but with with a Pro2 and 2 DL231s. Have you ever experienced a random signal loss or a pop noise during a virtual sound check? My MacBook doesn’t show any signs of slowing down and my outputs from our DN9650 to DM8000 will lose its output path in Dante while my MacBook is plugged in.

    today's sound engineers know far more about ethernet connections, bridges, routers and DHCP than how to set a nice sounding reverb and compressor properly, well many :) I recently did some engineering training at a church with a newly renovated worship center (sanctuary) and one of the sound guys was telling me about his final that he just finished taking for his audio engineering degree and when I was talking about running some monitor mixes post fader, and explaining the advantages and disadvantages, he did not know what I was talking about. He now has a degree in professional audio engineering. WOW!

    • @jimstanley_49
      @jimstanley_49 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      For people in the future. Press the quick select in the mix section of the input channel you want to assign. In the Mix section next to the channel strip in the mix or master bay, select or deselect PRE for the (aux) mix you want to change.

    Hey thanks for the video...very helpful. I'm considering going this direction with my pro 6. Couple questions: you mentioned it wouldn't work with a network to USB adapter...in wondering how you knew this? I'd need to use a thunderbolt to network adapter on my MacBook... also in curious as to your monitoring solution for the recording? How are you doing this for headphones or near field monitors...? Thanks!

    Great video! Thanks for sharing. I'm considering moving into this direction... Couple questions: Do you have a monitoring solution for the Dante network, (to monitor your recording)? Also, you mentioned that the Dante input into the computer wouldn't work with a USB to Cat5 (network) adapter. Any experience with a Network/Cat5 to Thunderbolt/USB3 adapter? Thanks!

    • @AVdud
      @AVdud 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      It wouldn't be all that different from what is shown in the video. You need a way for Midas AES50 to talk with your laptop. I'm sure there are other ways to make it happen, but the one demonstrated in this video is the only one I'm knowledgeable in.

    • @artysanmobile
      @artysanmobile 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Actually Pro Tools is the least friendly program to accomplish this MADI feed to computer. It will require Pro Tools HD software and an Avid HD MADI interface. Then you will need an interface from your computer to the MADI IO. The HD Native interface provides a Thunderbolt connection to your computer and two Digilinks to the HD MADI IO. Last I checked, this is an investment of roughly $7,500. Such is life in the Pro Tools world. Other DAWs are much more IO-friendly.

    Not a big fan of the decision to have physical knobs for only one band of the channel eq. Too important to have to toggle bands all the time.

    Very surprising that such a deep console does not employ touch screens. Would be a huge plus.

    Great video, thank you. I'm a bit new to digital consoles, where does the DSP engine sit? Under/next to the desk or at the stage with the DL? I have a feeling you're going to say "either place". I would assume it would sit next to the desk given it's the brains of the operation.

    • @AVdud
      @AVdud 8 ปีที่แล้ว

      Anthony Bowe "either place" is the correct answer. Technically it doesn't matter, as long as the physical connections are reliable.
