- Sung by the writers Howard Ashman and Alan Menken, this version of the Fiddler On The Rof inspired adoption song bears little resemblence to its current form, featuring the same tune but vastly different lyrics.

I love this song and always wondered why it didn't find its way into the film as it deepens their relationship and the conflict for Seymour when Mushnik meets his eventual fate.
What a treat to hear it in such an early rendition! Thanks, this is one of my favorite numbers from the original musical.
Now I understand why the lyrics on the cast album are so different from the final versions: they were going off of the original demos, not the final versions
I just see them as revisions
Mushnik and son! Sounds fine! Like music the words combine! So put up a brand new sign to say! Mushnik and son!
Alright.
Can I use the car tonight?
We don't have a car-
We might-some-day!
WonderfulLizardOfOz I believe it’s “Put up a brand new sign Tuesday”
