In today’s video, we went to Caldas da Rainha and São Martinho do Porto. Maria used to spend her summer in São Martinho so, it’s a very special video.
Our first location is Praça da República, we went to see the Mercado da Fruta, a daily market that sells vegetables and fruits, that remains almost the same since the XIX century…
We discovered the Cavaca, the most famous pastry in Caldas da Rainha. It’s made of flour and eggs with a crunchy sugar covering… Really good.
We also talk about the legend of the water with healing powers, which made Queen Leonor heal and then, build the Thermal Hospital.
After that, we went to a ceramics pottery factory/shop because it’s one of the things that they do best, the reason why is because they have an abundance of clay in the region.
Time to eat! We went to Solar dos Amigos, a traditional Portuguese restaurant, located on our way to São Martinho do Porto. Very nice staff, big portions of food and delicious. We had Cascos (beef), potatoes, feijão, and salad. Very Portuguese.
After lunch, we finally arrived in São Martinho, we failed on our mission to find a pastry that Maria loves (Almofada) but we saw beautiful landscapes... There’s a tunnel where you can go through and see the difference between the bay and the ocean, awesome! The sand dunes were amazing and Praia do Salgado, with its amazing waves, too.

We’re Maria and Du, we met shooting a commercial in Lisbon in 2018.
We started a distance relationship flying twice a month (Lisbon - Barcelona) and after a few months of that, we finally moved in together in Barcelona, where Du was born and raised (his parents are from South Korea).
We started our TH-cam channel because we love traveling, we always enjoy our trips and we wanted to keep our memories through nice videos, now we can share them with you.
Our final goal would be traveling full-time and someday, helping people around the world doing who knows what.

I am from Canada but I go to Portugal every summer, it's very nice
These places are quiet and beautiful. Makes me so much want to go to Portugal and I'm from Singapore, so it's a long way there. Hopefully, when Europe's covid-19 situation stabilizes and international travel is safe enough to resume, I can travel around Europe again. But right now, the end doesn't seem to be anywhere in sight.

I was just here for a trip to come meet my fam because I moved to Canada when I was 4 the dunes are cool but when it’s a hot day your feet will be non existent😂😂you will not feel your feet thanks and even tho I just came back from a trip this reminds me of my home town thanks

Olá Maria & Du. Another fun video! It's too bad the woman wouldn't let you film in Loja da Fábrica - Bordallo Pinheiro. Strange! When I was there I filmed a little bit and took several photos, but I was just using my iphone and not proper camera equipment. It's a great store and museum.
I've been wanting to go through that tunnel... I've never seen the waves that crazy on the other side. The locals probably know when the best times are to go through.
I like São Martinho and in fact a friend just moved there from the US... they are really happy with choosing it as their Portuguese home town. (I prefer the Peniche area myself).
Your videos are all fun and you are both so cheerful... and I love the tid-bits of information you like to share.

Hello, i'm from Caldas da Rainha, and you miss a lot of beautiful things. For the ceramic part, why do you not show the littles stores next to the Parque D. Carlos I? We have a very typical ceramic, than you can not find anywhere else :).
At Solar dos Amigos, the restaurant where you have eaten, all the meat is grilled in a fireplace, and you can see it. It's homemade food, very good choice.
Next time, i recommend you to visit Foz do Arelho e Bom Sucesso! You have beautiful places, like Covão dos Mosaranhos, Praia Rei Cortiço, Serra D'el Rei...
For those who loves to play Golf, we have a lot of campus, where you can play and see the ocean. it's so relaxing and beautiful.

Watched a few of your videos throughout the week. Really enjoyed this video the most. I must say I am being a bit biased, becuase we are from a small town outside Caldas. Two years ago I brought my Husband for the first time to my grandparents area and we fell in love. We stayed at Hotel Concha in São Martinho do Porto. We only had a few days in the area so it was mostly spent with family. Next trip I would love to visit all the pots you guys visited. Especially the park in Caldas, I had no idea it was down that way. We just went to the bakery for the Cavacs lol and went back looking for a tattoo artist for my brother. So nice to see and learn a little bit more about Caldas. Absolutely loved watching this video. xoxoxo

Also, you are creating great content. Going to give my two cents.
1- You cutting the scene to early, give more 5 seconds to the user absorve what you want to show, changing 5 places/images in 2 seconds, its too fast, especially on drone footage.
2- dont know if its cam or phone, but you guys need an Gimbal/Osmo something like that to improve quality.
Keep growing and improving.

I always love the drone view which is spectacular but unfortunately a little too brief, leaving only a passing impression. It would be nice to have longer drone views. Why was the place so deserted with barely anyone around? Because it was winter in a primarily tourist place and Covid? If so, no surprise you were not able to find the pastry shop. I imagine most places were closed. For Maria, i am glad to know Du is a martial arts expert who will keep you safe in your travels. Very good video, thank you!
Yes that’s why they were closed, on vacations... but that one pastry shop still works pretty good, for the locals, during the winter! 😊

Google maps can help you see the perfect beach for children.
In the summer you can teach your children swimming in this beach. Because the calm waters. I only spent one all summer (august there) because my father normally choose different locations every year to spent our holidays different beaches in Portugal (or Spain) to travel in that month (holiday month for our family). I remember because i had 13 or 14 years old i used to swimming from the beach to the ruins of a chapel from 12th century (capela de Santa Ana). Never try to swimming to the Atlantic ocean because the entrance of this bay was dangerous and even in summer that water was strong coming from the open Occean and my father can kick my ass if i try that insanity.

저도 몇년전 리스본에 갔었는데 호텔에서 나와 1km 정도 갔을까 쓰리꾼이 와이프 가방을 열어 지갑을 훔치는 순간 잡았어요 다행이. 유럽은 도둑이 나 나쁜놈들이 현지인이 많지않고 동유럽 아니면 아랍인들이 많아요 당시도 동유럽인인데 사실 현지인들은 덤으로 나쁘게 인식 되지요, 외국인을 입국 허용하면 한국도 조만간에는 유럽과 같은 불쾌한 일들이 생길것이지요.
