SLEEPING IN A ROYAL PALACE | Bussaco Palace Hotel | Portugal

- Hi everyone, today we have a very special video! We are in Bussaco and today we’re sleeping in a Real Royal Portuguese Palace. This Palace was built for the last King of Portugal in 1885, it’s located 1 hour from Porto and 2h from Lisbon. It is surrounded by a huge and beautiful forest, Mata Nacional de Bussaco, which we explored before entering the Palace.
Today’s plan:
1. Vale dos fetos (Fetuses Valley)
2. Fonte fria (Cold Font)
3. Lagos (Little Lakes)
4. Via Sacra (Sacred path) until Cruz Alta (High Cross)
5. Bussaco Palace Hotel
The amazing Mata has lots of different species of plants that came from the discoveries of the great Portuguese explorers. Inside this beautiful Palace inspired by one of the seven wonders of Portugal, Torre de Belém, you can find lots of furniture, art sculptures, gorgeous paintings and antiques brought from all over the world. We got to sleep in the real Queen’s room, we were very lucky, it was once in a lifetime experience, we also had a delicious Portuguese modern-fusion dinner cooked by an amazing Chef in the beautiful dining room. We also accompanied the meal with famous Bussaco wines, absolutely amazing.

We’re Maria and Du, we met shooting a commercial in Lisbon (Maria’s city) in 2018.
We started a distance relationship flying twice a month (Lisbon - Barcelona) and after a few months of that, we finally moved in together in Barcelona, where Du was born and raised (his parents are from South Korea).
We started our TH-cam channel because we love traveling, we always enjoy our trips and we wanted to keep our memories through nice videos, now we can share them with you.
Our final goal would be traveling full-time and someday, helping people around the world doing something nice.

Beautiful palace and grounds. As a lover of architecture of both both landscapes and edifices I was both thrilled and saddened by this video. Thrilled with the magic and beauty of the place and saddened by the lack of proper maintenance. The upkeep of both the gardens and absolutely mesmerizing architecture is obviously lacking and sorely needed. It is unfortunate that Portugal has allowed so much of its world class historical heritage to fall by the wayside. Restoration of these irreplaceable treasures is imperative if the country of my birth hopes to continue its steady but sometimes slow progress toward truly preserving the glory of its past.

In Portugal it is possible to stay in palaces, castles or convents (Pousadas). Many of them were transformed into hotels and are true gems. It's not cheap though.

What a hotel! It would be the place to stay on a trip to Portugal. The palace is a remnant of what Portugal once was, a great sea faring empire of the world, but all mighty empires eventually fall. Wow.amazing. I already heard about Bussaco but never had.a chance.to visit. It reminds me a litle bit of Bom Jesus do Monte in Braga,because of the forest,the lake,the stairs ,the location,the views and The Cross Path way ( i am not sure if this is the right name 😳) surrounding.
