Hello Leigh i hope you are fully recoverd soon. Still enjoying all your videos, thank you so much. Love that you show how to get best piano sounds.Take care. Pat. Always so informative and entertaining.
Hi Leigh, glad you’ve got over the dreaded lurgy. You certainly make the Genos sound great, let’s hope Martin listens and maybe gets the software writers to make a few enhancements.
Good to hear you're feeling better Leigh. Another informative vid, especially the pianos 👍 I sold a couple of cats to buy my new Genos too. For some reason my neighbours weren't very happy about it 🥴
Thanks for this video Leigh!…..I’m looking at buying a Genos any day now, but needed to hear if it would be able to make more modern styles and music……it’s a sod about the Arpeggiator/Multi Pads, but surely can be fixed in future update?…..as long as I can record modern drums and utilise classic sounds….I’m sure I can have fun making up my own Chillout/Ambient…JMJ….etc….thanks.
I think you should communicate this ( recording arps and other special functions in multipad ) with YAMAHA. I think they will be very thankful for new ideas, and your channel certainly already has a certain influence and they will listen to something like that cause we talking about an high end instrument , That's why the air is getting thinner and thinner for a large number of new features and quality, which will leading into a new e.g GENOS 3. Even your idea with the multipads . They maybe could do this with firmware update.... but i think they won`t do it, cause its maybe "too big" for that, so its a point for the list of features in future models..... By the way, i was very excited due to the fact that Yamaha "hears" my secret wishes from BEGIN (on Genos 1) to improve the sliders and knobs with leds and lights ! This was the absolute first idea i had in my head, and : now its reality. last day i sold my G1, and soon i will order my G2 - And that, by the way, is also the merit of your channel .... Thanks for many brilliant hours
@@LeighWilbraham classic track Leigh, spotted it as soon as I heard the first note of the melody played! Hoping to get myself a Genos2 this year to have a go myself, last arranger I had was a YAMAHA PSS-680 as a teenager, lol
Sounds really great and impressive ! It doesn't need really much. Regarding the MP recording: there are so many things missing here (quantize, ...). It would be soooo powerful, if this would be a 'real' recorder
Wow really enjoyed that, but, you have several layers put down and the wife shouts that the dinner is ready. How or where do you save it to, until you can come back to it??
Hi will how you do to have the global knob and mic gains at top high 10 and not having saturation on streaming sound? Do you tweak the mixer gains ?? Or what’s the solution? Thank you 🙏
It’s great to hear you’re doing much better!!! This is another great explanation video Leigh!!! One question, do the things you save to the registration memory stay there, after you power down the keyboard, or do they have to re-record them each time you power on? Thank you sir!!!
Hi Leigh, try Arpeggiator and press 'hold'. I think with this tool you don't need the multipad for continuous sequence ... Sorry if I'm wrong, I still have no Genos in Brazil ... Best regards, Eugen!
Os chineses e japoneses criadores e funcionários da fábrica Yamaha até devem estar de olhos em bico com estes edits / pads / sounds / etc …. Learn Yamaha . ❤😂😅
Hi Leigh, excellent upload thanks , but sorry way too expensive for me , but please can someone one maybe help me out , is there a vst plugin type arranger keyboard of some type , I don't want one to go out and play live , just would like to use one to kick start song writing ideas , thanks
Hi Leigh, I love these Genos 2 videos. The sound quality is top notch and I've been waiting to see some seriously creative music crafting like this. Everyone just seems to use the Genos like the organ at Blackpool Tower. On thing that baffles me which I don't understand is why you can't quantize your work when you create styles. I've watched other videos with guys making styles and they quantize each part they add. Is the quantize only available in certain areas. It should be everywhere when you are creating parts. Every drum machine and sequencer always had a quantize function. I find it hard to believe that this modern cutting edge keyboard from Yamaha does not have quantization. I've even seen people setting different resolutions of quantization to capture tricky time signatures. Please look deeper and share your thoughts on this. I feel this is very important because that multi-pad motif you created was not in perfect time. I liked what you were doing with the accents, but they were not nailing the beat.
@@LeighWilbraham Thanks for the clarification. lol that is a crazy decision by Yamaha. Is there any way to create it first with a quantized style, then copy the style to the multi-pad. I wonder how Yamaha created the built in multi-pad parts. There are some really nice acoustic guitar strumming patterns that you can put in a multi-pad to bring in a strumming guitarist as you play and it transposes to what you are playing. Fascinating instrument. I wish I could afford one :)
Hi @Leigh Wilbraham, As the Genos 2 is 3800 euro :). Could you do the same things (and then with appregiator) on the Medeli AKX-10? Ofcourse provided I load in my own samples to get the sound part correct.
@@LeighWilbraham, thanks for your reply! Good point; I read in the manual that it has a 768 MB user sample memory (don't know if this is enough). Is this what you are referring to? I did find a party where you can buy high quality samples (75). I will ask them if those 75 fill all space or not. There is another pack specifically for synth sounds, the combination should not exceed the space or it might be pretty limited.
finally i purchased my genos 2 with a music stand and a pair of HS7 with stands and 3 pedals time will show if i need a yamaha subwoofer all sound can be counterbalanced with genos 2 internal equaliser it gave the genos 2 more deep bass and treble i followed your advice dont by the stander genos speekers they are ok have playtested them but myHS7 with some EQ ADJUSTMENT is better later to night im gona download or pay for choir pack and church organ
Nice. Can you record an arpeggio to midi and then use that file in a multipad? I agree that the connection off arpeggiator to mutipad should haven a one button push.

Hi Leigh, Can't you do an audio multipad to get the arpeggios I realize they would be a finite length and not follow the chord, so probably a bad suggestion 😂😂😂

I am 92 and would love to play. Could you show how the one finger cords work and what you can do with them. Do they work with the aranger?
Good to see you fighting fit(ter!) and good to hear some rather strong resemblance to Offshore by Chicane along with related influences, love it! 😊
You got it - well spotted.

You could try - But the Medelli doesn't have a large sample memory to load the voices you would need. It's nothing like a Genos.
