Finally got my Genos2 setup. It is my retirement gift to myself. Hmm, I know I will never push it to its limits but every time I watch your video I discover another aspect of this amazing instrument. Thanks Leigh.
A glorious trip down musical memory lane. An hour of pure brilliance and exceptional playing as always Leigh. Its an absolute delight and pleasure watching and listening along, thank you ❤
What a magnificent jewel you are, seriously. Just have discovered your video and your channel and... thank you for sharing. All my respect. 43:41 Nice!
Hi, Leigh. I just needed to thank you for your inspiration. I am a complete amateur, I can't read music and most of the time I don't even know which notes I am playing but I have always had an ear for music and messed about with beginner keyboards years ago. After watching your videos I bought a Yamaha PSR SX 900. It is the best purchase I have ever made. I have been having a lot of fun with it. I just need to have a little home studio where I can mix my tracks and record vocals. Thank you so much for your inspiration. I watch your videos everyday and sometimes over and over. You are fantastic to watch and listen to. You were right, anyone can sound good on this keyboard. God bless and keep making those videos. A million thanks Leigh.
Wow!!! This is the best one yet, I’m only learning (slowly) and have only been playing on a Yamaha PSR EW400 and I thought that was good, I’ll be getting a Genos 2 on Sunday, I think this will help me leaps and bounds, you play amazingly, thank you
Thank you, Leigh! Another fantastic tutorial and demonstration of the styles and possible songs. I don't think you could ever bore the socks off anyone with your playing and inspirational demonstrations of how to edit voices and add multi pads, getting the most out of Genos. You never cease to amaze us with your creativity and the music that is in your head just "flows" form those fingers. We play the same way, I have been relying on my ear and what is in my head since I was a kid. The song, I believe that you are maybe trying to think of at 30:07 is "Loves Theme" 😀
I have to say I owe you a big apology I left a rather poor comment when you first reviewed the Genoa 2 but your playing is above all else and your honest appraisal is refreshing. I enjoy your videos and knowledge
You are the best Leigh! The 70 French stuff is for Claude François « le lundi au soleil « Monday in the Sun! It’s so great to see you having such a great time!
I would like to always be with you when you play, watching your hands moving to find every note of the song as soon as each style starts and see your facial expression when you get excited to guess the song corresponding to the style. For me you should put your face in a small corner of the video as well. I think it would be even more engaging. It's wonderful to listen to you. You are an angel. You took me years back when I played all these songs and had fun. Playing with you would be a dream. I always follow you and I have fun hearing your voice every time as you comment as soon as you guess what song comes to mind. You are a genius from the other world! I hope that more and more people come to your channel to enjoy joy to spend some time charging soul of positive energy with gifts from your beautiful heart.
Another brilliant video Leigh. what a power house the Genos really is. I would buy one in a heartbeat if only I had half your skill, to get the best from it. And my socks are still on!!🤣🤣🤣🤣
Don't let your skill worry you, Yamaha arrangers make you sound better and that in turn develops your skill. I speak from experience. I won't get chosen for a primary school band, yet I can do some pretty good covers on my Yamaha.
Good morning, just an amazing keaboard, i played Ketron for years and to me is like many years away when Roland was the king until Korg came out and was mind blowing! Its actually nothing you can't do with it and very easy, comparing to the Ketron! You explain the use of it in such a relaxing and brilliantly way as well! To me is much cleaner and less complicated than any other keyboard on the market. Good work!👏👏👏
That´s absolute amazing Leigh, only 10% of your skills and I would be a lucky man. By the way: The song related to the style French Hit is „Butterfly“ (Danyel Gérard). Greetings from Germany Karsten
Really enjoyed this Leigh. Some great stuff discovered and played. 70’s French Ballad still defies me. I can’t even think of a 70’s French ballad that was remotely famous.
It’s EXCELLENT and you play so nicely. This information is so useful and I am dying to pair up a cappella with the right styles and chord progression. I proudly owned Genos 1 though I’ve now part exchanged it for a stunning PSR-SX 920. Again absolutely fantastic though I wish what Yamaha would now introduce, is the ability to be able to copy and paste measures being recorded on board the 16 track sequencer and it would be so useful, if you could be able to drop in on the audio recorder. Though you can do this on computer packages, it would still be so handy to be able to have this facility on the fly when recording via the actual instruments but yes again, they are absolutely brilliant instruments there are no two ways about it.
That’s friggin awesome!! Excuse the language.. So cool! I never knew. I’m still waiting to get mine. Almost retired. I want to devote much more time than I have right now to learning and exploring it. Very soon!!

If you play the verse from "every breath you take" with add9 chords it sounds much better. It's due to the Yamaha "Pro Styles" . If you do that, The guitar arpeggio is close to the the original Ab9 Fm9 Db9 Eb9
Fantastic Leigh, loved every beat, every note, even those you weren't keen on. Need to ask though, which note ends with the style and starts with the voice or are the style chords on the whole keyboard? Coming to the end looking for Goodbye to Love.
That's because you don't carry over the same effects from the previous registration - user error. If you use the same effects and don't change from a hall reverb to a plate - which you wouldn't do normally, then there's no issue. It's lack of knowledge that leads to these sort of comments.
That is called a patch remain i think. Some yamaha cant handle it. Pa series can. Some yamaha synth also. Even a medeli can and a cheap casio. They have smooth transitions even a lot of effects as he was saying. Not a user error. Genos just cant handle that. It just cut even without effects. Some guy with more knowledge about genos explained it. Also comparing it to other arrangers.
