    1:29.03 Efren touches 1/16th of an inch from the side pocket, predicting where the cue ball will go after a bad ass cut into the corner pocket, then one rail and…BAM!…the cue ball hits that exact spot!!!! We don’t call him “The Magician” for nothing. AMAZING!!! Shot of the match IMO.

    Shannon Dalton the envy of all what-a-be's, never had job in his life been hustling since he was 10 or so? Reyes the king of pocket billiards. from where hustle the name of the game.

      Hustle has always been about forcing someone to go in a direction they weren't planning on going. Lends itself to good pool naturally.

    One pocket test your skills, problem is most don't have the skills to compete. One pocket will make you better pool player. The thinking game and patients which most pool bangers don't have. why most hate it and don't play it. Lack of skills and patients.

      R Mo : Absolutely correct! One pocket is way outside the abilities of most average players...and thus, commonly disliked by them. The skilled players, ['B' and above], love this marvelously challenging 'chess' game.

    • @rmo4222
      @rmo4222 7 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I play it ever chance I get. It improves my safety play, banking, cue ball control. One mistake can cost 3 or more ball or even the game depending on level of player. Makes you think of shots you wouldn't usually think of. My one and two rail kicks are very good along with reverse bank shots now, which comes up a lot in One pocket. When I play other games after one pocket I see a lot more options than I use to.

    1:30:25 With 1 ball to go I can't understand why Efren didn't just bank the 8 cross table and draw under the 10 wedging Shannon between the rail and the 10. Straight after that Shannon made a great two railer.

    ya know the last game was hill hill and efren was having a hard time playing out of shannons break ,,, and although i am pretty bew at this game i was wondering if tajing a fould to the short rail on this side in the middle diamond under the four or whatever it was ,....... shannon had no reasonable shots or banks ,,,,,,, so i was wondering if that was efrens best shot as opposed to selling out that whole set like that

      In his prime, or when he was playing regularly, he was top three, if not the best. He's also very quick to give props to Efren, which makes him a class act. Also, he was a great rotation player. I am pretty sure he has won the derby city nine ball, which is a feat Scott frost or Tony chohan will never come close to accomplishing.

    • @steveperez3501
      @steveperez3501 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      If you foul and don't have a pocketed ball to spot, you owe a ball. Once you pocket the ball or balls you owe it gets spotted after your inning or after you clear the table, whichever occurs first.

    • @steadyjohn65
      @steadyjohn65 6 ปีที่แล้ว

  • @ontheroadroe
    @ontheroadroe 7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    That was a great match, I guess Efren just felt 99 percent certain he was going to drop that ten ball as he sold the game out to Shannon with everything open after it failed to fall?

    • @supermingsu
      @supermingsu 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      I think he lost patience and decided to gamble. Not like playing other players, he didn't have big advantage in safety battle at least in this match. If he made the ten ball, he should also got an open table and finish it up. With obvious over 50% chance to make that ball, in my opinion, it's worth a try. But unfortunately, the pool god was not on his side this time.

    ...one of the worst mistakes of Efren in Ballselection at One Pocket, i'd ever seen from him.

    • @PoolMonsters
      @PoolMonsters 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      I liked the 15 as well. If you are going to shoot the 8, you better freeze it on the 10. What a great two railer by Shannon in response.

  • @Toobula

      i am new to the game but i was wondering why efren didnt take a foul and leave the cue on this side of the table at the middle of the short rail under what looks like the 2 or 4 ball shannon had no banks or cuts reasonable anyway and it was better than selling oput that entire set ....... idk but does that foul look like a good option to you ?

      In his defense, Efren is the best one pocket player that ever lived, and he didn’t discover the game until he came here to rob American pool players at 9ball. Shannon has been around a long time and he knows Efren is magic. If I were in his position too, I’d be thinking the same thing he probably is thinking while looking at the table: how is this shot going to cost me the match?
