Good shooting Jimmy White! Very enjoyable match. Shannon's blunder on that kick shot on the 1ball cost him several games. Jimmy's two flukes on the 1ball are just part of the game. He kept playing the wrong shots here and there, but as Helfert said it is okay to play the wrong shot as long as you make them. Jimmy did just that. The 3-rail shot on the 3 to the four, the bank on the 4 etc were simply spectacular.
I love how people talk smack about snooker cues🙄...I'm an American and I own a Omin snooker cue for 8yrs going strong and you couldn't trade me a mucci or any American cue for a snooker...good job Jimmy white with a strong comeback
OMG it's insane that Jimmy beat Shannon using a snooker cue, and came within 1 shot of beating Efren! Completely the wrong tool for the job, with more acutely tapered shaft and a tip close to 9mm - a pool pro would use about 13mm. And pool pro's can't believe snooker pro's use brass ferrules - it squirts the cueball more because of the extra weight at the tip. (snooker players call it "throw").
I just came from watching Daulton play Larry Nevel in a 9-ball race to 13, but I could hardly believe it was alternate break which is a very dull match to watch compared to all the excitement in this winner break 9-ball where both players have the skills to win and no hope is lost. It was not the same with Daulton against Nevel winning at a score of 11 - 4. Daulton had no chance of winning with alternate breaking and you could see all hope was lost well before the match ended. Alternate break 9-ball should be taken back to wherever it came from.
i wouldn't call it "all that luck" he had three flukes within 12 games, i wouldn't say that's too substantial, now if you could break like jimmy then i could see you beating a professional pool player ;)
