Standing Sprint Intervals: Put it in your highest (hardest) gear and go as hard as you can for ten seconds from a standing start. Then rest for 1 minute. Wash, rinse, repeat 10 times. Warm up for 10 minutes before hand, and cool down after. You won't want to ride again that day. 🙂
One of the best product "review" videos I've seen. Great mix of personal and technical information. The video, shots, edits, and action were also awesome. Great job and keep these coming!
Finally a great bike review! Specialized making a great decision to get well-spoken, experienced riders to talk on the aspects you can't get from reading the spec sheet. Great work Jeff. Can't wait for the longer-term review.
Ignore the haters, it's awesome having a subjective review. When I got my new Emonda it was just a dozen channels listing off specs and approved marketing material for 10 minutes.
I got to be honest we all love cycling videos this is just what I need to get it going the blood I love it. I always watch these before I go out and get my body moving. I love when I always watch one of these, and then put up my heavy playlist I love like Delta Parole and then I just go haaaaard!!!! Tactic hasnt let me down yet.
Damn, Jeff. Went from an old Felt with chinese off-brand wheels and parts to a Venge and now a Tarmac SL7. Truly "started from the bottom" and now we're here
Great review! I’ve seen probably 20 reviews by the big sites and they all just requote the marketing material / use the stock footage. Having real world use - eg how it feels over a pothole on a downhill / how much confidence does the handling give you is much better to the average rider / racer not on a pro tour team and cuts through the marketing blurb much better
Great review! One thing I think would be great to add to your videos is the locations where they are shot. You mentioned that you found a road in San Jose region, with low traffic, etc, and it would be nice to share the location, so besides showing good bikes you also share good riding spots in NorCal ;)
Loved the format. Two knowledgeable cyclists going at it and showing different shades of the bike... but would say this is more for current Specialized owners (very oriented). Sponsored riders by Specialized, praising the bike to be awesome goes little to sway me on how objective the review is.. but really like the concept. Suggest you stack it up against Cannodale SuperSixEvo Hi-Mod, new Émonda SLR (keeping an USA theme) for the long term review... nice job guys !
good to see corporate brands seeing the power youtuber channels have now. You got more views than cycling tips and almost as many views as the mega scripted production big s made. Good work!
Cool review. Love the colour of that frame too. Weight comparison with your Venge not really apples with with apples though: no pedals on the SL7 when you weighed it and it’s the S-works spec, so its several thousand bucks of lighter wheels/components vs your Venge Pro. Would be interesting to know what the weight difference is with the equivalent S-works Venge.

Still though, my 2019 rim brake Trek Emonda SL6 is lighter even with alloy wheels and ultegra. So... Is this a Tarmac or another weirder Venge? The tarmac used to be a lightweight beauty, the Venge an aero weapon. Now both seem to be the same bike, so I don't really get it. Then again I wouldn't mind owning one... Good to see you reviewing the bike too.
Let's put this in perspective. One of the nicest, most expensive race bikes in the world costs about as much as a ho-hum motorcycle. The equivalent performance level in a MotoGP bike would run you around a million dollars or more.
