I notice it's a lot louder when people are in the car with me. The engine works harder.
But the best thing is the weight savings. It felt like the car was towing an anchor all this time with the Invidia R400, once I converted to Tomei.
My Tomei and Phils Tomei sound like completely different exhausts. Similar turbos, both catless. The only difference is ELH vs UEL. ELH is way quieter.

I had the ETS Extreme with a catless dp on my 17' STi. That was hysterically loud. I could only imagine with the headers and larger turbo. My Evo woke up like crazy when I switched manifolds and turbos. Went from the Extreme to the Quiet cause Cali Life. My wife wants her STi to sound like this

@@CarsWithJR What was strange is going from stock to catless the interior drone didn't really change at all. The exterior was the real difference. My wife has blob eye with a invidia catted dp and n1. It's plenty loud but she wants that bit of rasp. I put a catless pipe it'll have it. I felt my car was more of a meme than anything lol

Yeah, there is no way I could drive around with an exhaust this loud. There is loud and then there is piss off the whole neighborhood loud. Surprisingly, Phil's set-up is way louder than mine and we're both catless. The only difference is the header. UEL and EL.

This sounds beautiful, I plan on getting a 17-19 wrx here in a few months once I've been at my new job for 6 months and I am definitely putting this on if they have one that goes out both sides so there isn't a empty slot.

Sounds quite alright but I would prefer the Tomei UEL with a catted j pipe and the Tomei Expreme. With that set up, you’ll have almost a perfect rumble
That's pretty much what he has except he has a catless downpipe. J-pipes are for FA engines. He has an EJ. .
I ordered a Cobb downpipe, up pipe and Tomei Expreme Ti catback for my 2011 STI sedan and can't wait for the Tomei and DP to come in...Changed my front and rear sway bars a few weeks back and had to take my SPT off at the axle...Went for a drive without it and fuck that just put a big smile on my face...Can't wait for the turbo back stuff to come in! Dope video!

I like the sound of the tomei exhaust. If the sound concerns you, there are tomei silencers that you can easily install that reduce the sound.
Yeah, we have the silencer...it just doesn't sound very well with the silencer.
@@CarsWithJR true, however im not sure how the law applies for having a loud exhaust where you're at but here in cali that tomei would most likely get you a ticket. The silencer is a ticket saver.

@@yohan1902 lucky you. A friend of mine was pulled over, he was driving normal and got a ticket. I guess it really depends on the cop. However, police officers can “exercise their judgment” in determining if your exhaust noise is over the legal limit. Im just bringing up awarenes for those that want to install the tomei but are worried about the loud noise and getting ticket. Putting on the silencer does change the sound to an unpleasant sound but in the end your car remains lighter then a stock exhaust.

I loved the Tomei w/ catless dp setup on my 10 hatch sti, but I wanted to stick with quads so I sent it on the ETS with no resonator or mufflers on my 17. Low key miss the old setup tho...
That quad tips really help fill in the void.

Yeah, it's a highly under rated exhaust. Not very many people have it.
Totally, mine was $2,150 cause it wasn't on sale but It sounds sooo good and the quality is consistent for years. I bet the welds are still great on the one that just came off of that STI. People dont like the price tag of the Ark. Tomei is fine for a track car. But the engineering that goes into the Ark allows for a straight pipe sound during full throttle and a subtle tone at low rpm's. (And mine is turboback)

Car was engineered for the dual exhaust, I'd go with what the scientists put on there. I'm stuck between a maperformance exhaust or awe, but to each their own.
Albert K These car do not have a true dual exhaust. It’s a single exhaust that splits to two mufflers. The Cobb exhaust has two mufflers just like the factory system.
