In this video I caught some fish in a trap with the boys from @FVSantaFaz To support my channel please use my code "OTL20" for 20% OFF at store.mossyoak.com
I think Violet wanted in on some of your Catfish Oscar. Makes me smile to see the younger generation gettin’ after it. Those young men are a good example for everyone.
Hey man I found your channel through the deer meat guy, although I unsubscribed from his page and stopped watching his videos. I commented on his shaky videos and he didn’t like it. I think he’s all puffed up now and so cringy. His passion is gone. I hope you don’t change man. I appreciate your videos and great attitude. God bless and thank you.
I helped a local buddy of mine trap and net everything from minnows to bullheads catfish and carp. Started doing it at 15 and 8 years later still doing it. Edit: we used to trap snapping turtles but he turned over his turtle license to his daughter since you can't get commercial fishing and trapping license in my state anymore. Once a holder of the license dies the license expires. To prevent the license being gone you can write it off or something like that to another person
We sure do enjoy your channel, love the culture you convey in your videos, the respect for people and family, the wildlife, and the food! Love seeing you catch and cook! Thanks for sharing! Keep ‘em coming!
Love watching your videos and my husband & I want to come down to St Bernard Parish and look at some of the places you fish and also visit the restaurants. Your cooking is amazing. Love your shows
Where abouts are you boys dropping them traps? I run the same nets, bought them in Lafayette. I run them in the Delcambre canal headed south from the new launch, and we have pulled nets with 50+ fish after 3 days. I prefer catfish cheese bait and cut mullet.
I have a baked fish recipe you can try Get a container of Italian style bread crumbs add paprika a couple teaspoons some cayenne pepper to taste line pan with aluminum foil and coat with salted butter bake at 350 for about 30 minutes covered then uncover and turn heat up to 400 for about 15 minutes checking periodically until it has a crisp coating then enjoy
what i noticed in this video compared to when you went out with that guy who did these nets is when they get the fish in boat, they use another net to scoop them in and dont put stess on trap by lifting out with fish still in.
Awesome video! I have a buddy that makes hoop nets and two weeks ago I asked him if he could make me a few wire nets like those and he said he could, and now I am just waiting for them to be finished and head to the river and see what I can do. There is a guy on TH-cam that uses them here in my area and he uses cheese and soy bait blocks from Nets and More and boy do the catfish love it. God bless you brother and see you on the next one.
A few fish for a fish fry. Instead of bread crumbs you should try "Panko" I really like it on fish and razor clams that we have up here in the PNW. Tight line
Been thinking about buying a net to drop out, now I think I should. Also on a side note, might wanna use those cichlids as cut bait next time. Mr. Greenjeans will get his jumper in a bunch if he sees them going back in the water live.
I trap and net on the gulf but I live on a river here in Florida. Backyard is mown grass to the water. I have some of those traps too, never have gotten to use them. Seems this is the only river in Florida you can't use wire traps, only wood. I thought my few dozen traps kept me busy, those youngsters are on top of it. Now to go look over their channel.
Jared, Congrats on 100k! Do you have an email I could shoot you some questions to? I visited Morgan City last year and want to move my family to south Lousianna. There's not a ton of info out there so i was just curious if you might be able to offer some guidance.
I love seeing the youth picin up the good ways. 👍

Is this even legal tho lol 😂now this is what I call easy fishing dump it and pick it up tomorrow
Using old window weights works well. You can strap them in the cage with zip ties.
Like the wire hoop net fishing.
Somebody probably 'borrowed' those fish on the last trap.
I really want to live in Louisiana and learn the culture. Living off the land interest me a lot.
Where your daddy from?.
Catfish hunt by scent, the more oily or the more sugary the better.

First
try Caernarvon/Braithwaite instead of violet next time ;)
You need to get some nets from gods country hunting and fishing
I enjoyed your video, but try to keep the go-pro lens clean, some of the footage was very blurry.
It’s something on your end check your internet connection all clear on my end I would have noticed in the edit
Great videeo! Try the cheese and grain block! They bring them in here in North Louisiana Good Luck!
You can’t mark traps like that up here in north La, too many thieves. It would be gone in a day!
I need to hang with you guys I love fishing

When I was 15 it cost $80 in materials to make 1 net. I don't know how much they cost now since it has been 8 years
Get some bait bags and stink cheese they sell it in dessalmends
Never stop enjoyed the show

Jarad, can you believe there are people that won't eat catfish? My daughter in law, for example. But bless her heart. she did grow up in Ohio! 😊

Wire mesh needed on those traps
