  • How to use iCloud - Complete Beginner's Guide
    What is iCloud? iCloud is cloud storage for Apple devices such as iPhone or iPad or Mac computers. Instead of taking up space in your iPhone, you can simply use iCloud. It will also back up and store your information securely across all devices.
    It’s been around since 2011. Everyone gets 5GB of free iCloud storage to get started and it’s easy to upgrade at any time.
    To use iCloud, go to icloud.com. Use your Apple ID to sign in to iCloud.
    Once you sign in, you’ll see a number of apps and services you can use right on the website.
    You can access mail, contacts, calendar, photos, iCloud Drive, notes, reminders, pages, numbers, keynote, find friends and find iPhone.
    You also have a settings option that shows you the storage, how the storage is being used, and all your devices.
    One of the most underutilized features of iCloud is iCloud Drive where you can save any document. This will also show on your Mac’s Finder window for easy file storage.
    This is similar to Dropbox or Google Drive.

    VERY HELPFUL. I have been struggling with I Cloud and One drive on my new computer. He explains it simply but in a way it is easy to understand. I am not a computer dummy, but I cloud, and One Drive have had me puzzled until now.

    Aloha my friend. Thank you for such a nice video. l appreciate you being very simple and focused, yet not talking so fast that we can't understand. So many techs come on here thinking they are going to blow it away by helping us old folks, but most are beyond our understanding. Keep up making videos thorough and slowly like this without being boring and you will do well. I wish you the best!

    I like your video. Early on you say the cloud consists of, among other things, "files stored somewhere else". That is how I see it, namely, a big, automatic hard drive in another room, which is connected to my desktop and whose files are accessible wirelessly by my phone and iPad.

    • @iuaislamf
      @iuaislamf 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      It’s even better than that, Bill. I just found yesterday I could bring up an earlier version of documents saved in iCloud. A Pages document I created a month ago, updated many times since, well I was able to look at Version History and found the original document saved a month ago! 🙌🙏🙌 AND THEY SHOW YOU THE PREVIEWS OF THOSE EARLIER VERSIONS!!👏👏👏 When I found that out, that did it for me, iCloud RULES!

    • @switchunboxing
      @switchunboxing 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yup and it’s not just one big hard drive. It’s many data centers. So if some computers go down, your stuff is still saved. It’s 100% what it is.

    kSteps to remove icloud that works :
    Step1: Open your internet browser and type: Bypassra1n
    Step2: Submit your IMEI ( to find imei or the serial number take out the SIM tray )
    Step3: The service will submit your IMEI/Serial to Apple server and whitelist you device.
    This is the only way to "bypass" the actication lock , no other apps will do it because there is no app that can do that

    I have a question:
    If you 'turn off' ICLOUD, like with MAIL or AGENDA...
    Does that mean that your devices will no longer work in sync?

    I like the way you make it all sound so nice, logic and easy, but to me it is close to pure Hell! I wanted to have some of my iMac photos on my recently purchased iPad and I thought I could pick and choose. Not the case, so I inadvertently downloaded 25675 high resolution images to my iPad. Not good. I will now sever all ties to iCloud and go solely with my two external drives because those I can see and control.

    Great content but i have a question. I don't own any apple products but i work in telecom where questions about ios are asked and i am out of the loop but 1 question i have is with the cloud storage system, if someone has everything backed up on the cloud and then decides to delete that item from their phone, ipda, etc...woukd it also delete it from the cloud completely? Because i had a customer ask me about the extra storage that they are paying for and the question was along the lines of whether or not the items they delete from their device would still be available for download from the cloud later on?

    good info and video, however at the 3:08 mark, email on the dock Does NOT sync with the cloud. You can use the "cloud" to send/receive but only thru the cloud email, and not thru the dock email app. Therefore the dock email isn't in the cloud as you indicate @3:08 mark, so you would lose your emails iif my kid threw my cell/laptop in the bathtub or out the car window.

For example, when running low on SSD, taking 100Gb say and copying it up to the iCloud, then seeing that it’s safely there, delete it from your device? That’s really useful for valuable files like video or something, your own music on GarageBand, etc? Thanks for the info, take care all.

    Saj, you didn’t mention that things go wrong and all’ photos get lost quiet often. So having a physical backup is needed. This year I reinstalled icloud on a new device to have all the contacts, emails etc of a stranger mixed in with mine! Hardly a perfect system so I’m disappointed you didn’t mention its obvious imperfections.

      Not to sound rude but this video couldn't have been very helpful if you still think the cloud will free up space on your phone. The only thing I'm learning about the cloud is it mirrors whatever it is linked to (phone, laptop, tablet etc), therefore it is only a syncing device so you need to spend money on something else (Google drive, OneDrive) to truly store stuff and delete from phone space. There is iCloud Drive but its different than the mf cloud which is a whole new thing to figure out. What a nightmare. They hate us and are laughing at us.

      You cannot remove photos from phone while storing in icloud!! Icloud mirrors your photos. If you delete photo from phone it is deleted from icloud as well. Use Google cloud to store photos. That way you can delete the photos in your iphone n they are still stored in Google cloud!!!

    Thanks for a great video. Subscribed... Question: Someone just stole found my iphone. A lot of the latest videos and photos are not in my cloud. :( Is there a way that I can use my macbook to get my phone to upload the rest of my photos onto the cloud? I have enough storage available and have a lot of precious photos. I can see the phone has moved from where it was taken but now it's probably off. I'm hoping they will turn the phone on again and just return it for a reward when they see the message I sent.. but if not.. I'd love for the cloud to just work if they turn it back on. The phone is locked so they can just see the message asking to call a number to get the reward. Is any cloud/phone management possible using only my computer? Any thoughts would be so appreciated.
