  • The Rare Brown Hyenas of Namibia. On the coast of Namibia there's a rare breed of brown Hyena, scarcely studied by humans until Ingrid Wiesel. Rather than feasting on carrion like most hyena species, they hunt for their own prey, killing it themselves. In the inhospitable terrain of the Namibian coast, these unusually furry hyenas must fight for every scrap of food and water that they can get their hands on.

    Rumor has it they've been spotted in Boca Raton in Florida. Probably they were once household pets that outgrew their management.

    In this video it says that they're not really hunters they're mostly scavengers I've seen a video where a brown hyena was chasing an anteater I believe it was somewhere on TH-cam To a while back

    These brown hyenas are quite beautiful, and fill an interesting niche. I hope nothing happens to the ecology that would cause the area to be uninhabitable by them. It is interesting that they are shifting from scavengers to predators, and I can understand why they eat the brains first, but not why they would leave the rest of the kill which could provide nourishment as well. I also don’t see the reason in killing extra seal pups and eating no part of them…interesting.🖤🇨🇦

      Hyenas are scavengers usually but they've always been predators too, like wolverines. They'd rather just find food but they'll both fuck shit up if they hunt.

    I wish I could watch these without the idiocy of the commentary swearing animals that they never studied before are evolving and changing. They do the same things they've done since they were created it doesn't change. And this lady touching dead things with her bare hands is so disgusting

    • @amazingsupergirl7125
      @amazingsupergirl7125 2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Every living thing evolves over billions of years to survive. You can even see it in your lifetime with humans. If one animal doesn’t adapt but other animals do, they’ll be killed off. It’s actually just common sense.

    • @nickdouglas736
      @nickdouglas736 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Animals are constantly changing their behaviour and adapting to external influence in their environment otherwise they cease to exist eventually. That's literally what evolution is.

      I'm on your team when it comes to wasting millions of dollars doing research on one set of animals for years and all they get out of all that wasted money and research is the exactly the same shit the last brown hyena researchers got no new information I'm glad I'm not the only person who saw this feel the way I do about wasting life saving dollars on research instead of helping starving homeless children and veterans it's really sad to see they rather give me a half of millions dollars to take pictures of a animal another zoologist have already documented and we all came to the same conclusion but hey some people love wild animals more than humans they rather prolong the life of a wild animal than that of a child who only eats twice or three times a week we know what brown hyena do so please someone give me a half a million dollars so I can research starving humans who will live longer than a wild animal which will only have a estimated lifespan of roughly 9/12 years but if we put that money towards a starving group of kids who will live a estimated life of 60/85 years and I'm pretty sure those starving kids will grow into adults and save another group of starving kids but hey fuck the kids brown hyena are more important I said what said

That could use the money that was spent on this .....this .. waste of time. Nothing about this is to Uplift the Human Race. So da MILLION DOLLAR QUESTION is...why is these animal resurches b out of HUMANITY!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?
