Finally a proper docu highlighting the Striped Hyena. It's so rare to find good videos about them; though it's slowly getting better. Just a few years back it was nigh impossible to find Striped Hyena clips on youtube. It's been my favourite animal for a long time now, and I really hope it'll be studied more in years to come.
I fell in love with striped hyenas years ago and was determined to learn more and more about them. My dream is to see one in person one day. They are so precious and I'm hoping the reputation of these animals will become a good one in the future.
Thanks for making this in favour of our Indian Hyenas, giving attention is important if we really want to keep our Indian bread to exist. Yesterday we four got stucked near the edged of a mountain ground area in Indore Rau area and we saw a Indian Hyena is struggling and running from a pack of 9 dogs. It was rightly said that we don't know much about the species, which made me to come to this documentary. You must go for collar belt tracking devices to know about the life of Indian striped hyena
when it comes to conservation, we think of conserving mostly the big 5 and am not sure how much effort is put towards other animals like striped hyenas and other vulnerable animals. along with conservation, we should also spread awareness among each and everyone., esp the younger generation so that they can understand wild life well from earlier age itself. also we have to support the organizations who are spreading awareness and we should give animals whats rightfully theirs and not take it by killing and making them lose their habitat. hopefully we can contribute a little every month or whenever we can, so that every animal can have a better life.
In Somali language it is called “Weer/Dhidir” and it is well known for killing goats that most Somali people herd. It has the character of killing many goats and only eats one for that reason most pastoralists see it as their main enemy when it comes to protect their goat from wild animals
Striped Hyenas sight was common in 1960s , at that time mini touring zoos were common in India and they displayed these hyenas just like chained dogs openly .These mini touring zoos displayed monkeys, covers, fox, badgers, jackals, panther eagels, python, rabbits and other small animals and birds ,these hyenas were chained only. Now these zoos are no where.
The bad thing about India that there is people everywhere even in the wildlife centuries, jungles and protected lands. There shouldn’t be anyone allowed in these areas but gov and people expanding their borders and destroying nature and reducing pollution of these magnificent forests and wildlife

Let's hear it for scavengers like the striped hyena. Predators leave some rotting meat behind. Scavengers eat all and protect us from infection.
Striped hyenas are my favorite animal (obviously)

Government should make a national park in this area
Indian wildlife is so vast and beautiful

“Dog-like”… plot twist: they’re actually in the feline group with cats, civets, mongoose, meerkats, fossas, genets, and binturongs.

Visited Saswad 2-3 times. Could not spot any Hyena or Wolf. Can anyone suggest a particular area where I may explore?

That makes me happy. I had waited for them to release Striped Hyenas since launch. I'm super glad to hear the game still has educational value! :)
