I am soooo stoked. I’ve been a MK fan and practising martial arts since I was in primary school. The Mk lore is so rich and broad, so it always had a great basis for a film. I can’t f***in wait. I love the original 1995 film which was lots of fun, but this new film looks bloody amazing!!
I think they're using the character of Cole Young as a stand-in for the audience and a reasonable excuse for exposition dialogue rather than established characters discussing out loud things that should already being known and making us all shake our heads. IMO.

I also believe “I am Sub-Zero” isn’t the one in the trailer saying it, but it is Cole when he takes the mantle later on. They just dubbed that phrase over that scene for the trailer. Those are all fantastic theories I have read so many, mine is I think that Cole is scorpions son and that scorpion Hanzo is actually dead. Because there are so many timelines and stories with Hanzo and Bi Han, some say his whole family and clan were killed and some say his son survived and we may see how that happens or not. Now that's why I think Cole sees his father in the mirror as scorpion pretty much saying this is who you are meant to be, remember us and Cole is scorpion fighting Sub-Zero in the end, because scorpion is a netrual anti hero, and he will kill Sub-Zero and he will fall to the Neatherrelam were Quan Chi resurrects him as Noob Saibot. Just my theory but there are so many and all possible. But yes I love this trailer I think it's awesome, but I will always love the 1995 MK.

Fun Fact: The actor that played Kano in the original Mortal Kombat movie (Trevor Goddard, 1995) did such an outstanding job that the creators of the game (Ed Boon and John Tobias) completely retconned the history of the character to fit the fact that Kano is from Australia... and by this movie still is.
I use to play the Mortal Kombat games, when I was a little kid. The characters are awesome and this looks, feels like a MK film. If the execution is on point, it will be better than those mediocre MK films back in the day, that weren't violent enough. TERRANCE OUT

Also cast list shows the Actor for Sub zero as Noob Saibot as well (which Bi han Sub Zero becomes after being killed in the lore). The scene where we see a smoke cloud with Sub Zero coming through it..is most likely him reviving as Noob Saibot. Means there will be the younger brother Sub Zero who is actually a good guy later on possibly, and it's being theorized via the easter eggs that Cole Young is at the very least a descendant of Scorpion, so he may end up taking that mantle as it's been known that Scorpion's soul will take over another vessel to keep his pursuit of vengeance against Bi-Han and his clan. One thing about that though, is the frames we see Cole fighting, he has what looks to be a stone like carapace armor...which leads to him possibly being Tremor. I'm beyond hyped for this movie. The second I saw Hiroyuki Sanada as Scorpion i was sold.
Having already watched the movie, I can promise you that the film is absolutely terrific. I loved every minute and cannot wait for the sequel. It is incredibly gory and also amazingly faithful to the history of Mortal Kombat.
Some of us at Forestry SA were contracted to help clear and remove some pine tree's and move some rock's around for the Hanzo house scene set at the Mt Crawford forestry reserve early last year before Carona hit. I cant wait to see the full scene with the thought of being and walked in that exact location. Should of carved my name on a tree for a self movie Easter egg 😁
The thing I love about mortal kombat 9 is its a retelling of the entire mk story up till that point except with time travel but not really more like images of the future.
