As for Johnny Cage, i have a weird feeling he is in the movie at the start and that is who Sonya and Jax is trying to save 7 years ago in Brazil where Jax lost his arm's to Sub Zero. If you notice in the car scene where Jax is driving and it seems like he is talking to Cole saying he was chosen, but you can see Jax holding the steering wheel with human hands and not cybernetic meaning this scene was from 7 years ago before he met Cole. So i think Shang Tsung sent Sub Zero to start killing chosen people for the tournament and Johnny was the first to be killed and Sonya and Jax have been tracking things for the last 7 years. Maybe Cole was in a cage fight with his shirt off and someone was streaming it or recorded video and posted it online or social media and Sonya and Jax saw the footage and noticed the birthmark and it picks up from there.... jeez i went on a bit there, i was just typing what i was thinking lol...... I just don't think he would fit the Johnny Cage roll as Johnny is a famous actor as well as a fighter and would be noticed by someone even if he had amnesia or some sort of memory loss. Wow, seeing how Jax loses his arms was unexpected & he loses them in a fight with Sub-Zero in the sequel back in the 90s Jax had his cyber arms put on him the removes them because he realizes he really didn't need them. He just used his old school methods. I just had a thought Loki is part frost giant when I see the way Sub-Zero fights & using his ice powers I see Loki going the same thing he would be a total badass if he could generate his ice powers like Sub-Zero can.

My ideal outcome for Cole would for him to be Bi han (sub zeros brother) only because my favorite character is Noob Saibot. But i can only be hopeful. And if my boy Nightwolf is in here I might just cry.

Possible spoiler (as it's just a theory at this point), so I'll put spaces just to be safe, but...
The theory is that the "new" character, Cole Young, isn't actually a new character at all. He's actually Kuai Liang, the second Sub-Zero (from MK2 onwards), and younger brother of Bi-Han, the first Sub-Zero (who later becomes Noob Saibot). The theory is that Kuai Liang grew up in America and thus has an Americanized name (Cole Young does sound a bit like Kuai Liang). This would explain why this Sub-Zero is apparently hunting Cole Young.

Wow, seeing how Jax loses his arms was unexpected & he loses them in a fight with Sub-Zero in the sequel back in the 90s Jax had his cyber arms put on him the removes them because he realizes he really didn't need them. He just used his old school methods. I just had a thought Loki is part frost giant when I see the way Sub-Zero fights & using his ice powers I see Loki going the same thing he would be a total badass if he could generate his ice powers like Sub-Zero can.
