I’m exactly with you, 💯 % StarWars for me ended with the same. Why studios are obsessed with back tracking and telling originals of a story I never know, that being said I do love Prometheus and I actually do love Alien Covernant, faults as well. THIS MOVIE though!!! OMG! Yep, I feel we are getting what we want. I appreciate the newness coming from a director as opposed to to Ridley just churning it out otherwise your not doing it out of love your doing it out of necessity. I’m all over this ❤
In the book, David just remade the aliens. I'm guessing by giving them more biomechanical features since he’s an android. I like this concept much better.
At my maturity I recall the original film. This presentation is vaguely a homage to the Ridley Scott version. A bit darker color palette wise..with a younger less seasoned cast. Alverez appears to have done his homework. That closing title blocking is identical to the original. Plus the metal iris opening is from the Dallas escapade..nice. The vibe is familiar..yet promising...if handled with some imagination. Because for me...the last two were not to my liking...no offense to Fassbender. Wishing this to be a fresh start for this franchise...it deserves to have a legacy. Your overview was genuine and insightful...nice!

He didn't create the xenomoprhs, the engineers did. David just stole the idea and made his own. Its in the actual films. Quite obvious.
