Great video, Thanks for sharing! I don't like blaming other mechanics, for all you know, it had nothing to do with the valve cover. Great job on getting it figured out!
Thank you for making this video! I have the exact same issue. Ordered a new BCM and it will need ODIS programming as well. When you scanned the car for codes while it was in SAFE mode, did you get trouble codes from the BCM?
Good job working through the process of elimination, but I have a few questions. Why wouldn’t a new virgin bcm2 crank the vehicle(did the dealer perform adaptation with odis?). Which bcm2 did you use to crank the vehicle?
I believe the dealer didn't get it done properly, and I used the new one that was purchased that the other shop had gotten and tried to get programmed.
Yes, the issue was that the programing procedure wasn't' completed fully and left have done, hence why it wouldn't "see" the key and so on. Odis was able to go through the regular programing procedure and get it done fully and properly. As far as used ones, I believe there are 2 types of bcm2, depending on years... some are "locked" and can't use second hand ones. But clone work might be able to be done, would just have to try
@@DTEAuto sign me for a repair!! I bought an ecu from the junkyard instead of bcm2. Car now powers up but no start. I’m thinking your method is the way to go. Please direct me to help 😢
@@DTEAuto question for ya, Replaced this exact module on my car due to water damage. Picked up a used one from the exact same car plugged it in and it has to be reprogrammed to the one original from my car. Took my car to the dealer; the dealer said they can’t do it because it’s locked to the original car it came off of? Is that possible? Or is the dealer trying to take advantage of a bigger sale? Thank you in advance
Hello, please tell me if replace bcm2 and key with other same parts pulled from same care is I will need to replace ECU also or no need, because I already replaced the cluster and gateway but it gives me safe on the cluster, so I don’t know if I still need bcm2 + key and ECU or just bcm2+key
If a shade tree mechanic jumps into the deep end of the pool. And thinks all cars are the same it’s “just valve cover gaskets how hard could that be”. Think again.
I enjoy your channel. Question. Where did you get diagram where to solder at BCM?
it is provided in the autel

I believe I was able to at least communicate with it
Wow! Great information mation. Thank you.
Do you use gecko account with the Odis?
Do you use the "used BCM2"?
I used the new one that was purchased by the previous shop, and the diagnostics/programing was remote in
@@DTEAuto thank you sir
I really appreciate the respond

Hi could you let us know if you do manage to sort it out.
I have a similar problem.
Haven't got ODIS.
Thanks

I would assume you would also need the key and bcm2 of matching vehicle you got the other modules from
If I replace key and bcm2 is I need also to replace ECU ?? Because I don’t know if the engine will start with new bcm2 and pulled from different car
Do you have contact for who remote into your laptop to program the car?
I don't anymore
What was the noise ? Drive belt related? 👋
I believe so
Perfect diag sadel 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻.
Thanks for watching
Nice 🫡 did you reprogram the bcm2 from the junkyard w/ that was flashed?
No I did the original new one
It’s too bad that the customer didn’t tell you the whole story behind the failed repair (or whatever fib was told by the Craigslist mechanic).
is autel j2534 vci work with odis?
Yes it worked just fine
@@DTEAuto Interesting~~odis is genuine or clone?
Genuine
