Who knows at this point. The Future Connected ending opened a floodgate of possibilities. Given that, and this, it's clear to me that they wanna keep this franchise afloat. Takahashi said they're already working on a new Xeno, which he claims is going back to the mature tones of Blade/Saga.
The main QoL change I’m hoping for is a streamlining of how you change party members. Having them throughout the city is a fun idea but having to find them each time is a pain
Just make it like the Heroes in 3, considering those mechanics already felt inspired by X. Hopefully they can implement some kind of Bonus XP system to allow the other party members to level up with you without you having to play as them, again like the Heroes in 3
Not gonna happen. The development studio doesn't exist anymore, the IP owner is likely some no-name company they merged with (Soleil from Wake Up Interactive) that barely does anything and Itagaki's own company he created after leaving (Itagaki Games) has also shut down several years ago. Honestly chances are slim we'll ever see Itagaki be the driving force behind a game again. I love DOA up till 4 and his Ninja Gaiden games and I'm not fond of the current Team Ninja (nor their takes on the NG games), but I don't see him doing that anymore. While he can make superb games, he's someone with an ego and I don't think it would really work very well for modern game development.

One of my core memories with this game is swimming to Sylvalum because I wanted to explore more. It took FOREVER but was so worth it once the music kicked in. Then I eventually made it to the final continent before I even had the skell, the world is so cool and just encourages exploration.
My first exposure to Xenoblade was both Xenoblade X and Smash Bros. when they introduced Shulk. I never played Xenoblade X, but a friend of mine in college loved the series and would always talk about it when we play Smash. He owned a copy and would actually play on my WiiU and i would see the gameplay and everything. I never got the chance to play any Xenoblade games up until the Switch came out and my first game ended up being Xenoblade Chronicles 2, and when Xenoblade 3 was announced i bought Xenoblade Chronicles Definitive Edition and thats how i emded up loving the franchise overall

I played half the game with as the default class. When I for hired out how to change and upgrade classes I was floored. It was my first open world rpg and I had no idea what I was doing half the time. I also really hope we can change party members using a menu like in 3. Here's my complete list What we want to see *Updated* 1: Boob slider uncensored well uncensored gameplay from the original Japanese version. 2: Better online mode with more exploration harder missions and larger exploration of maps' for online mode 3: Better inventory clutter fix, with previews of equipment on obtaining them, and previews in the menu of each item. 4: Maybe a multi-player to explore your own world with friends in split screen and or online. 5: Let me choose to turn off the flight music. 6: When flying around in your mech, another key to turn into a Jet plane Mech to fast speed past map areas or escape from an op enemy. 7: Let us bring the Jump skill back. ---------------------------------------- I ranked over 30,000 hours in this game. I wonder how long the online mode in this game is now, or will they shutdown the servers like they did on the wii-U? Side note my character you might recognise is called Nirvana I was online 24/7 nearly since the wii-U's American release lol. Hopefully they give us new mechs and a lot of them, and more customization perhaps some download content to give us mechs like in Xenogears with cool weapons and unique abilities that are op lol I'd like to fly around with Xenogears from well Xenogears lol Lau in the game might mean he can bring his black mech to help the team lol. Also you know there's going to be a Xenoblade Chronicles X-2 if this game does well on the switch, and it will come out on the switch 2 guaranteed. Wonder when it will be on physical pre-order? Oh don't worry m8 they can connect all the characters like they did in the games, via the dimension rift, and yes this is my fav game of all time probably. I spent the longest on it than any other game in the world, the main story was weak and quick, but the exploration and missions were so good it made up for it. What do you think? What would you like to see?
30,000 hours??? You've mastered this game three times over! What did you spend that time doing, mostly online missions? It took me 230 or so hours to complete the map which is like a drop in the bucket compared to you lol

Yep trust me, try different time of day and travel the world too and you find random missions on the map where some npc's are hanging out lol it's crazy but I think I found like 50 missions or more scattered around the world. I'd say I spent some years doing exploration missions the most, trying to find all those hidden items and equipments. So basically exploring the whole world at different times of the day as well lol. I actually just got done crying because of this. Although I think the play test Nintendo just did might have been for testing this out without people knowing.
@RyouShi98 they could have adjusted the textures and only given impartially access to some of the systems. The fact that it was a resource gathering type thing, and that's one of the things you do in the game. Considering the size I could technically see it

Beside it existing in the first place my hopes for this remaster would be; Improved UI, An actual in-game tutorial (as the game apparently doesn't really have one?), being able to manually level both up AND down whenever and recommended levels for quests.
I hope they expand on Celica's story, iirc, she and two other characters were dlc in Japan, but was added in the american release. And i hope the slider is back... The one thing they need to fix is if it’s a quest that is just random items at least mark where they’re at. I hope Monolithsoft remakes Xenogears, in full 3D, with a Witcher 3 level budget so they can make multiple giant cities (Etrenank, Bledavik, Nortune will need it) and a lot of other decent and small sized cities with the thousands of NPCs, I think Xenoblade games have at least made it into the 800 or 900s, and complete voice acting.

Maybe they raise the level cap (and hopefully add something like superbosses over lvl 100). It was 60.. imagine if they would raise it to 99 like the other titles. Btw the story final boss is at lvl 50. In 1 it is around sword valley, in 2 it is around morytha and in 3 around chapter 5. Imagine like 3 to 5 additional story missions at the end.

Xenoblade X Definitive Edition Wishlist in order of highest to lowest priority/likeliness: -Button on the equipment screen that lets me check what built-in augments actually do -Make all the characters level together even when they're not in my party -Better draw distance on lobster plushies -Loadout menu for at least Cross since they can change classes like Xenoblade 3 characters -Perks for damage types outside of Ether to make them more viable -Less grindy end-/post-game; halve the amount of materials needed for all craftable augments -Better TP gain on all weapons so I'm not forced to have Irina with the Ramjet Rifle in my party at all times to make the game fun. Alternatively, take away the TP costs on arts. I don't care if that makes Overdrive more powerful, I don't use it because it overwrites the battle music
Not COMPLETELY out of nowhere. The devs have been teasing this for a while, even tho most ppl never believed we would see the day it actually would be released
As a collectors edition owner who put 100s of hrs in this (despite selling my WiiU for the Switch); I am more than hyped for myself/former players and a new generation to experience this masterpiece. It was my first Xenoblade and also before my daughter was born the year after. I would keep the intro playing as a screen saver on our big screen in the apartment. It really is the precursor to BotW but something it does better than any game imo is scale. Skells (Dolls) make you realize how small and almost insignificant you are after you’ve explored the world for almost half the game. Giant monsters now are small creatures you can bully. Smaller creatures you just run over and kill since they’re too weak to properly engage in your badass mecha!Getting your license and insurance on your first Skell is a religious experience (Endgame when you can afford and have materials for the Bugatti and Lamborghini of Skell’s make for a ng+ experience…many creatures are too powerful to engage even with the best load outs. Tyrants then become the new enemies to defeat (regional high lvl boss like monsters) and online helps with this. I could gush more but I’m stunned that they did this. One of my all time fav games is back (Also Castlevania Donimus and Marvel vs Capcom have really brought the nostalgia back…Tatsunoko vs Capcom remains…I sadly sold mine)!
I absolutely loved this, so this is such great news. Like you said, it's different from the Xenoblade 1-3 series but it still has a very strong sci-fi xeno-series atmosphere to it especially when you include Xenogears and Saga among them. I'm not actually too sure about the cliffhanger getting a proper explanation, because it's such a huge thing that would they really be able to explain everything with just additional story? I wouldn't even be surprised if they didn't do much about it and we got a Xenoblade X-2 on the next console.
I've been on the Xenoblade X Switch for 2025 train ever since the Definitive Edition for 1 dropped, a 10th anniversary release just made sense to me, they did it with XC1 (and they've done with a few other games too).
@@lol-ih1tl X on Wii U came with large patch files you needed to make it run at a higher frame rate and texture packs. switch 2 could help with upscaling and could do wonders for the game with draw distance and foliage.
@@teejay8212 according to the eShop, the game's file size is less than half of the combined Wii U file size (digital version + patches). That means that the game is already going to be well-optimized for Switch 1 by default (plus Switch's extra horsepower compared to Wii U)
Much more better than Playstation's pointless remasters. It's like they think Ps4 era was ps2 hardware, and think people never played it unlike the wii u. It's really dumb. Zero Dawn was nominated GOTY for God's sake.
XCX infamously had a lot of cut story content and the old online functionality (the big selling point at the time) is dead. Plus no one owned a Wii U. This actually has a proper reason to exist
I remember trying this game before I'd played the first game and got a bit lost and confused back in the Wii U days... Now with the main trilogy under my belt and a greater appreciation for these kinda games under my belt... I am excited to finally try this game again after all these years
I remember I played this in a game expo before the Wii-U release date and was blown away. Never got a Wii-U but I always hoped we'd get a port of this to Switch! FINALLY it's time!!!
I'm so happy they're bringing this back. I admittedly didn't finish it, but I spent over 100 happy hours in this game and wish I had the time to finish it. It easily had the best gameplay of the series and the most fun exploration, but the focus on world building over narrative was divisive. I really hope they take another shot with X2 one day.
20:23 Can't remember which it was, but either either Xenoblade 1DE or 3 had a decent time gap between its initial reveal and the announcement of its special edition. I remember having this same conundrum of whether or not to go ahead and preorder the normal physical edition or wait in case a special edition happened.
I never tried it on Wii U. I saw the beginnings of Xenoblade Chronicles in an LP and really liked almost all about it (the world, soundtrack story and the amazing english accents :-D ) but I never tried the series myself until Xenoblade Chronicles 2. Can't wait to play it and finally learn about Elma.
I remember picking this up around Christmas time back in 2015 as a kid. Played all summer long during summer vacation, probably put in like 300+ hours... I was so sad the day my wiiU broke. Glad I can finally play it again.
I started playing the Wii U version a few months back, part of the reason I didn’t get far and haven’t gone back is because the font size is so flippin small, and I don’t have a super big TV (or the best eyesight for that matter). If they can fix that I’d be more than happy to play the new version, new content just a happy bonus. Also I’m not the only one thinking that’s an Organization XIII member at the end of the new trailer right? Heck of a crossover
The font is an easy solution. The problem with the first game is it had a bunch of info text printed all over the interface, but you kinda already know what to do after about 10 minutes anyway. All that stuff can be put into tool tips, have a help toggle and when you hover over it it shows the tool tip in a larger font, instead of just having it all over the place all of the time, and in a very small font so they can fit the text on the screen.
I was just thinking recently how much I wanted to play this game again(which I never finished). But I no longer have access to my Wii U and I don’t have a lot of time for at home gaming. Im so excited this actually ahappened
I remember watching derrick's review, streams and content of this game Non-STOP bcs it was my first rpg and I was SO excited for it and now HERE WE ARE!!!!
Fully agree with Derrick: to me, the sidequests were the core of the narrative experience with X. I often found them more compelling than the main story quests. X's sidequests take great advantage of its setting to explore humanity's struggles, dreams and depravities, trying to survive in this kind of incomprehensible disaster scenario on an unknown alien world. I am so looking forward ro revisiting this game!
One of my favourite parts of X was also because the protag is just a blank slate android, you are free to come up with your own backstory like a traditional RPG unlike the numbered entries which have preset main characters. For instance, after that one scene where your arm gets blown off, I kept that arm looking like a mismatching replacement for the rest of the playthrough and treated it as if it held the activation trigger for Overdrive mode.
This was such a pleasant announcement to get out of nowhere. Derrick's review on Xenoblade X is actually what convinced me to pick it up on my new Wii U baxk in the day.🎉
X is a very special game to me as well. I think the world of X is one of the most immersive worlds I've played in. Running around or flying around also never gets boring because of how beautiful and alive the world is. And although the story wasn't as impactful as 1-2-3, it was still a very enjoyable story, each chapter feeling like an episode of anime. Oh and the soundtrack, i know some didn't really like it, but I thought it was the perfect soundtrack for this game. Edit: John said it perfectly when it comes to the appreciation of the on foot exploration. Initially, I longed to get my Skel because of the trailers, but luckily, it's still late in the game before you get access to your Skel. But they've done such a great job with the world that I really enjoyed exploring the world on foot. And when you do finally get your Skel, boy does the world become even more immersive than it already is.
Hyped for this title. As I had Xenoblade Chronicles X for the WIIU and loved it. So I'll definitely preorder this long-begged for remaster when preorders become available.
It was Derek's review of Xenoblade 2 several years ago which got me into the series. Since then I've gotten to play every entry... except X, and that gap in my Xenoblade experience has bugged me. I'm mega-looking forward to correcting that with X Definitive Edition! ^_^
I got the wii u version on launch day but i dropped it after my saves got mysteriously erased with like 60-100 hours of save data and i could never get as far when trying to replay it, not that i got far into the game because i was just mostly running around areas way too high level for me to see the pretty sights. Happy it's coming to switch because i can finally replay it whilst being able to take the the console with me (i move around a lot) and the game no longer looks like it's smothered with a thin layer of vaseline that makes it blurry. Also will be nice not having the atrocious wait times of the wii u discs. This is probably the last switch game ill be purchasing (most of my switch games since 2020 are from tinfoil :p)

Moreover, Goddess Elma is back!!! But what's up with her new art style and she was little darker complexion-wise! I hope things improve on that front! Other than that... I'm excited!🎉
Same. Can't wait to return to Mira.
@@Human_01if you look at someone like lao or the main character, they are doll-like. The problem was that the facial expression were far to bland, and im happy they fixed it. The eyes were enough to feel like "dolls"
Been waiting to play this for nearly a decade, finally it's time! New story content to boot!
Me too
I’ve been wanting the damn cliffhanger answered for ten freaking years
Only thing keeping my Wii U under my TV lol.
So far the only new bit of story content that's been revealed is a epilogue section set after X's cliffhanger ending.
@@derrickhaggardim guessing they will add more in between and in the end because they fidnt show a dlc like fr, fc or torna - at least i hope so. We would get lucky if they put something of the scraped content back into game (or maybe retcon it to other xenoblade titles)
Now how much you wanna bet the additional content is gonna lead into the Future Redeemed ending?
If they somehow manage to make both X and Xenosaga canon to the numbered timeline… peak fiction
@@rin_reverie X is heavily implied to be canon in Future Redeemed since they flatout mention stuff from X.
@@AzureRoxe Even if they’re intended to be connected, it’s going to take a ton of retconning to fix the whole aliens destroying the world vs. Klaus destroying the world issue. I don’t think they have the courage to change that much of the story.
Who knows at this point. The Future Connected ending opened a floodgate of possibilities. Given that, and this, it's clear to me that they wanna keep this franchise afloat. Takahashi said they're already working on a new Xeno, which he claims is going back to the mature tones of Blade/Saga.
@@JadeM15Maybe Earth in X could be Earth far in the future after it reforms post-Future Redeemed?
The main QoL change I’m hoping for is a streamlining of how you change party members. Having them throughout the city is a fun idea but having to find them each time is a pain
Yeah that was a pain. But I'm confident they will make it more player friendly.
Just make it like the Heroes in 3, considering those mechanics already felt inspired by X. Hopefully they can implement some kind of Bonus XP system to allow the other party members to level up with you without you having to play as them, again like the Heroes in 3
Devil’s third is not a matter of if,,, but when
Mark my words .
I personally liked Devil's Third, so it's a bit of a pity that it probably won't get ported...
looking forward to Rooples Pooples Remastered
Valhalla Studios owns Devil's Third, so..... no sorry.

Jon wanting cars in NLA to stop being ghosts is like someone wanting the place to be basically unplayable while running with the mech as a car, everything is a ghost so you don't keep hitting everything with the dolls
Yeah, that was a technical sacrifice if I remember. Wonder if that will change though.

Same took me 100+ hours just to 100% this massive open-world JRPG.
One of my core memories with this game is swimming to Sylvalum because I wanted to explore more. It took FOREVER but was so worth it once the music kicked in. Then I eventually made it to the final continent before I even had the skell, the world is so cool and just encourages exploration.
We are of the same mind. I did exactly that as well and it was magical
Oh I did that too! I think I was doing a hero mission and I think that ended up with me traveling to the continent by swimming.
As soon as I jumped on Twitter, this announcement was the first thing I saw before it refreshed and I freaked the hell out.
Ew Twitter
I literally just randomly checked my phone and I get a notification for a fucking xenoblade x remake. Holy shit.
I don't think I'd realized it before, but this game (and Derrick's reviews and deep dives) are how I discovered you guys in the first place back on GX. 9 years later and I'm still here.
I apologize to anyone who I am disturbing with my joyous screaming.
I am not stopping, btw. THIS IS HYPE! AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH
Now, if you'll excuse me, I have to go binge the Xenoblade X OST again (Hiroyuki Sawano FTW)
Cauldros Night bgm!!!!!
Praying they give us proper tutorials this time. I only learned couple years back how Overtime REALLY worked, while loaning this game to a friend.
I played half the game with as the default class. When I for hired out how to change and upgrade classes I was floored. It was my first open world rpg and I had no idea what I was doing half the time.
I also really hope we can change party members using a menu like in 3. Going an hunting down each character suuuuucked.
On my B-day too! What a gift!

Nah, nah, the Ma-non voices can stay as they are, their sheer goofiness is what makes them endearing, wouldn't change it for the world
HOORAY FOR PIZZA!
If Shulk and Fiora were voice options in the original X, I wonder if the other protags will get added too. I’m not counting on it but I would love to see that! Or… hear, that is. Lol
If that's the case then I'll have my female CaC have Mythra's VA as her voice option.
Having Harry McEntire and Aimee-Ffion Edwards as voice options would be amazing, I'd adore that! I'm not gonna expect it, but oh, how I want it...
So excited to replay this, ALL I ASK is that we can switch party members in a menu instead of having to find them in NLA

At least let them stay at one point! If there was a heart to heart they werent at their usual spot (for immersion its great but maybe something like a phone wouldnt break it

Literally out of nowhere, they finally fulfill the wish of we Xenoblade X fans.
After YEARS of hearing people swear that it wasn't possible.
Here's my complete list
What we want to see *Updated*
1: Boob slider uncensored well uncensored gameplay from the original Japanese version.
2: Better online mode with more exploration harder missions and larger exploration of maps' for online mode
3: Better inventory clutter fix, with previews of equipment on obtaining them, and previews in the menu of each item.
----------------------------------------
I ranked over 30,000 hours in this game.
@@josephstanichar5434 I didn't follow any guides, I was exploring the whole world in every nook and cranny for missions, and found so many, and they kept on piling up, and at different times of the day to boot, and did you know there's missions all over the world not just in the city?
Yep trust me, try different time of day and travel the world too and you find random missions on the map where some npc's are hanging out lol it's crazy but I think I found like 50 missions or more scattered around the world.
I'd say I spent some years doing exploration missions the most, trying to find all those hidden items and equipments. So basically exploring the whole world at different times of the day as well lol. Really hope they give us time control on the fly, cause finding a seat or bench is difficult.
I think the nodes on the map also took me some weeks to perfect. I can safely say this is the biggest game I ever played, even bigger than starfield which was a pile of junk lol

I actually just got done crying because of this. Although I think the play test Nintendo just did might have been for testing this out without people knowing.
Ohhh that's a really good point! Good idea!
Awww, and I'm really excited for this too ;w;
But if that was the case we surely would have heard of it? No way could they keep a lid on it if an XCX port was the thing being playtested
As someone in the playtest and someone who has played Xenoblade X, no this was not anything to do with the playtest lol
@RyouShi98 they could have adjusted the textures and only given impartially access to some of the systems. The fact that it was a resource gathering type thing, and that's one of the things you do in the game. Considering the size I could technically see it
@@mageius You're really reaching for something that makes no sense. The playtest is testing entirely different, new ideas and is literally still ongoing. Xenoblade X's online is nowhere near this level and it worked on Wii U you don't need to test it again lmao.

I hope they expand on Celica's story, iirc, she and two other characters were dlc in Japan, but was added in the american release.
And i hope the slider is back...

The one thing they need to fix is if it’s a quest that is just random items at least mark where they’re at. Xenoblade X Definitive Edition Wishlist in order of highest to lowest priority/likeliness:
-Button on the equipment screen that lets me check what built-in augments actually do
-Make all the characters level together even when they're not in my party
-Better draw distance on lobster plushies
-Loadout menu for at least Cross since they can change classes like Xenoblade 3 characters
-Perks for damage types outside of Ether to make them more viable
-Less grindy end-/post-game; halve the amount of materials needed for all craftable augments
-Better TP gain on all weapons so I'm not forced to have Irina with the Ramjet Rifle in my party at all times to make the game fun. Alternatively, take away the TP costs on arts. I don't care if that makes Overdrive more powerful, I don't use it because it overwrites the battle music
The cars will still be ghosts; walking around NLA in a Skell would be awful otherwise
The one thing I'm hoping to get out of all of this is the OST being on streaming platforms
Only 100 hours?! I thought the game hours minimum was like 300 or 400 hours!!
I've been wanting to play this game for AGES, HELL yes
The player character customization censorship feels like a form of body shaming.

Good choice of background music. Sylvalum day just feels magical and alien at the same time.
I would say it is fitting. It seems like Nintendo loves doing HD/Definitive Editions for games ten years after they are released.
Much more better than Playstation's pointless remasters. It's like they think Ps4 era was ps2 hardware, and think people never played it unlike the wii u. It's really dumb. Zero Dawn was nominated GOTY for God's sake.

At this point its just Twilight Princess HD, Wind Waker HD, Nintendo Land, Yoshi's Wooly World, and Star Fox Zero that are trapped on the Wii U.
If you've never played this get ready because it isn't easy to get into but when it clicks it's an all time classic
THIS REALLY WAS OUT OF NOWHERE!!!
I'm so hyped for this remaster. It looks so good.
This was such a pleasant announcement to get out of nowhere. Derrick's review on Xenoblade X is actually what convinced me to pick it up on my new Wii U baxk in the day.🎉
What the flip indeed
I KNOW, RIGHT?
Hopefully they don't have the censorship in the definitive version that was in the English Wii u releases.
My jaw dropped when I saw the trailer pop up on my TH-cam homepage. I love this game, and am so excited to return to Mira.
