This was the tiger course I’ve faced to date and combine that with me battling my swing makes for a roller coaster of a round!

You have such great potential, your good strikes are professional shots. I can tell when you're going to hit a bad one as your back swing/take-away looks very contrived, paralysis by analysis, I do the same ! loosen your grip to relax your arms and turn in the follow-through it really helped me. Love your channel and can't wait for that break-through round!

consider doing stableford challenges so the bad holes are a blob (no score) and can just move on ! the challenges can be like “Can I make 30 points in stableford?” 2-man scrambles to break par would also be fun!

Always great relatable golf, admire the way you handle the “bad days “ you can have on the course! Sometimes you just have to laugh about the bad shots and move on to the next one!

This is the golf we all experience. Well done for seeing it through to the end with a smile. Is there any other game where we suddenly forget how to play? We don’t suddenly forget how to kick a football or make a rugby tackle, but sometimes we stand over that golf ball and it’s like it’s the first time we’ve ever tried to swing a club 🤬 And still we come back for more! 😂

reminds me of my old club Aldenham, tree lined any thing not on fairway was a bogey at best, I did play off 13 in my 40s neatly got there in my 60s but back to 24 we play a similar game

I really think you could benefit from leaning some Way of the Playa from golf sidekick especially on days where you aren't playing your best. Only hit the clubs you are confidential in and manage your way around the course. Doesn't matter if you are on or near the green in 3 on a par 4 u can 2 putt bogeski and sometimes save par
If it was a tournament or something I would definitely revert to irons only, but I have to fight my demons with the woods and driver because i spent all last summer hitting pretty much irons only for this same reason 😂

Strong Work Dennis, and way to keep an exemplary positive attitude. And it’s just the video I needed to see.
Just in my second season of golf ever and shot my best round of a 107 last week and this week I blew up a 65 on the front 9 that was just devastating ; so I hoped on the executive par 3 course to refocus and dial things back in.
But spot on, just gotta be nice to myself and remember that this is how this game goes. Back to the range this week to sort out some swing issues.

Try using your favourite club "8 iron' for chipping around the green there is no need for loft when chipping unless you have a bunker in the way I always use my 8 iron now for short chips
Me and the bump and run don’t get on too well for some reason I blade them off the planet 😂
@@BogeyGolfUK Had the same problem so I replaced my standard Wilson 8 iron with a Wilson launchpad2 8 iron with it's large sole makes chipping a doddle Tmade do a similar club !

I am a 25 handicap so I feel your pain. Your round looked mine two weeks ago but last week I hit under 100. Crazy game. Keep at it Dennis:) You had some really difficult shots out of the rough.

Dennis! Hole 10, when you said "we're going to trust our hands and go upstairs with this one" I was like 😯 You need to listen to Golf Sidekick - Get It On The Green (which means anywhere on the green, not at the pin) - you were aiming at the pin over the bunker, when you should've been aiming away from trouble, to the left of the bunker. If you hit your shot you're putting, and if you chunk it, you're chipping from greenside, and not in the bunker.

@@BogeyGolfUK thanks for the entertaining and relatable round! I don't think you played that badly considerinng the course. I only noticed this one because I've done something similar, just chunking it into the bunker when I had lots of safe green a few yards to the left, then taking multiple strokes to get out of the bunker.

Brother as a 20 handicapper myself. Take the flag out for short putts at the least. Mentally it makes a difference and the hole feels bigger.

Fantastic lag putting Dennis! I’m jealous of your speed control. Also: I think you’re spot on when you diagnosed your pull. Right before you said it, I noticed you spinning your hips before your downswing.

@@BogeyGolfUK preaching to the choir! I know I need to do better moving my weight forward on the downswing (and do it beautifully on my practice swings) but it’s so hard for me to do when I’m actually hitting the ball. Frustrating.
Ive been lucky enough to also play fulford once and what a place... Unbelievably hard though!!! Glad to see the smile remained throughout! Would love to collab one day if you have time!

Really enjoyed that - as ever. I’ve left my driver in the bag recently and have been hitting clean 4 and 5 hybrids off the tee. Much less stress and much better scoring. Just a thought!

I can relate. I played recently, started with 3 bogies, then 3 pars 🎉 and then 3 quadruple bogies 🤬 - I have no idea what happened apart from me getting a bit cocky after the first 6 holes. 🙄
It’s just golf ain’t it I never made a par until 6 holes in yesterday and tbh I thought it was going to be like it all the way round I was scoring heavy but the wrong sort of heavy 🤣🤣

Feel your pain Dennis I'm a 23 handicap and I try not to go forthe high lofted club when it's wide open try a bump and run now and then mate
Believe it or not I tend to blade my bump and runs horribly 😫 I like a bump and run off the edge off the green but I struggle further than that.

I don’t know about anyone else here, but I’m a big advocate of leaving the 3 wood when I’m way back and playing PW twice. Much more likely to stay safe and get on the green vs risking having to scramble after a wayward 3 wood. Thoughts?

Been a few weeks since I’ve seen a video. What happened to the trusty 2 iron?
I started enjoying my 3 Wood so it’s sitting at home currently. 3 wood is a little more versatile for me
Do you find hitting off grass just takes practice compared to turf at a range?

I think you done yourself out of a couple of shots on that scorecard. Should have been a 103? Great round nonetheless. My golf is similar to yours. Can’t get consistent off the tee or with my irons yet. I’m getting close to breaking 100 but not there yet.
It’s been a while since I broke 100, which is tough to take given I finished last summer breaking it consistently 🥲😂

I’m not sure if it’s the camera angle but it appears you’re lining up wrong in some shots. From what it looks like you’re aiming to the right of the target and hitting the ball where you’re aiming. Not trying to be critical. Just an observation
