I seem to remember in the 2000s they rereleased this playset shortly after Prequel Trilogy Lucas rereleased special edition Episode 4 trilogy with graphic enhancements , , and more OG mold toys were showing up left and right , ,at just about that time , , , 🤔😸👍👍
Loved this playset as a kid due to the sheer amount of scenes you could recreate from the film. And like a few of the other playsets from this film, the play features were almost ingenious. To a six year old that upside down Luke levitating Artoo and the box was like Magic.
Hey Joe! I think this was one of the most excited I was about a toy not only in this run, but my entire journey. It’s def a great one! Thanks for watching my friend! And thanks for the awesome items!

In addition, your video quality and audio are at outstanding I love your slogan, such as let’s go, thanks for being such a great collector #WIN

Congrats! that Dagobah set is one of the best playsets of the entire vintage collection , long gone are the cardboard back with a plastic base of the 78-79 line , The Empire Line is the best line of Kenner ( Playsets, ships, mini-rigs, figures) you got a great piece!
I'm on my third Dagobah playset since I was a kid, although my third one is still with me since 1991 when I started collecting again. I didn't mind getting replacement foam because I want the playset to display as best looking as possible. It is perfect for recreating the Dagobah scenes from both ESB and ROTJ. The sculptor did a masterful job. I wish there were playsets like this today.
Hey Richard! That’s awesome you have been collecting since 91! I wish I had been collecting since then! Thanks for taking the time to watch and offering such a great comment
@@thepadawancollectorofficial I stealthily began re-collecting since 1990, but really 1991 is when it all took off in full collecting mode! I do have some figures from my child hood, but have upgraded and added even more. Love the content of this channel.
Mine was stowed away in the attic for nearly 20 years, and the foam had long since disintegrated like the foam trash from the Kenner Death Star. I simply bought a car wash sponge and trimmed it to fit the swamp, then dyed the yellow sponge in brown ink! It looks good to me, and I used the rest of the sponge to make trash pieces for the trash compactor, individually coloured in with felt tip pens. I've still got the original baggie with the lumpy foam dust in it, though! Great video Joey!👍😁
I saw this set at an antique mall incomplete with box for 140$, but I didn't buy it. I would really like to get one for my collection one day. Great video!
I was finally able to get the Dagobah playset though Ebay at a lesser price. But the parts were missing expect the swamp foam. A fresh one was added. I painted brown as it suppose to be. Then I bought the repro crates and r2 insert. And last leveltation hook with branch. They were original. Now my set is complete. It looks great!
Dude!! Thank you for mentioning Ian’s :) I’m getting an acrylic case for my original ESB X-Wing box asap. Also, wanted a Dagobah play set since my best friend had one in second grade.
Hi joey, great content as usual! I live in the uk and bought the dagobah play set from the USA a couple of years ago as it was much cheaper than in the uk! The one I bought was complete but the foam was reproduction, still it is in great condition and worth what I paid for it (about 150 dollars). Keep up the great work joey and greetings from England!
I really love this set. You’re so right about the playability. So cool. Also the foam is so hard to get original. Have to be so careful about it being repro. Another great episode my friend. Cheers. #WIN
I really loved this playset as a kid. I like yours a lot and I think you paid a good price. I appreciate all the backstory you gave on the playset! So many hours of fun as a kid with Vader, Yoda and Luke. I don’t have an Instagram account anymore (it got hacked a couple of times so I jumped out) but I did do the other stuff and I could sure use a Leia blaster for my childhood Cloud City Leia so here goes #WIN.
Another key vintage SW playset for sure. I still have my original one, but it is in rough shape & the foam is long gone. So last year I picked up a very nice complete version, only missing the foam (a nice reproduction was easily sourced via eBay) that I could display. I then picked up a very nice original box, in a similar condition to the one you have, also being the first release, along with the instruction sheet and mini booklet too. Unfortunately I wasn't able to find the cardboard insert, so I have been quietly hunting for that recently although it typically means picking up this item along with another Dagobah playset, as they are really found separate from this. So the hunt continues. Yours is a fantastic example, and well within the reasonable range price wise too. Loved all the research and information about the five box variants along with the "Emily" inscription. This is honestly the first I've heard about that so that was really cool, and I'm glad you could explain the origin of it as well. Don't know how I missed it all these years. Congrats on 25,000!!!! @@thepadawancollectorofficial I'd love that series Joey. And yeah, I've seen those repro inserts too. Thought about purchasing some just to keep the boxes in better shape and square, but marking them with a marker that would say "repro" on them so that they wouldn't get passed off anytime in the future as legit originals. I am curious to pick up a couple of those and compare them to some originals though just to see how true and accurate they are, also to see how they can be deciphered from the originals as I'm sure some folks out there are passing him off as legit OG vintage stuff unfortunately.
Thanks Doran! I looked at so many of these and the foam was either missing or in bad shape so I was happy to find this one so complete! Thanks for watching my friend
Awesome video. I'm starting the process of refurbishing mine, from childhood. It will have to have a repro swamp foam. Found everything else but the ar2 cylinder. Found a good box too. Next one will be the jabbas dungeon (grey).
