Man did I luck out this weekend. I just picked up one of these for $700. It's a 94 with OEM 92 fairings (black and grey) 20k on the clock. Guy said it "didn't run" and at that price, I was happy to take it and sort it out. The only thing wrong with it was it was outta gas. Unbelievable.
Omg - you stole it !👍🏼 I got a 95' GSXR 750 for $1500 with 10K -- my issue was it needed a new petcock and the wire was broken at the start button -- some guys just get lucky l guess
Dream bike, I’m in love with the eyeball headlights and the analog dash. It reminds me of my Miata in those aspects. Modern day digital dashes are nice but something is beautiful about the classic gauges. Those headlights give it a cute look in my opinion
This bike was the bike that got me in them! I ride one as a passanger and was beautiful, the sound, the style, it is so muscular. Congratulations what a great bike you got, i want one of those.
Trust me man they're no slower unless you've got two pros on them. I've owned 6-7 other superbikes including 167rwhp 2002 gsxr 1000 with a yoshimura catalogue spec motor. These will still try and kill you. One of my favourite quotes to friends when they ask me why I've sold most my other bikes except my two sc28's. " I love my bikes like I love my women. Loud , few previous owners, from the 90's and trying to kill me. "
I picked up a 1995 900rr about 18 years ago and completed an engine-out full restoration about six years ago. Videos of it on my local tracks (post restoration) are on my channel if anyone is interested!
I had one of these in 1993 , completely polished the frame and swingarm, full D&D exhaust, stage 3 jet kit , RK gold chain, etc. Very lightweight with good power back in the day !!
I remember drooling over these in the showroom. I still have an 87 Yamaha RZ350, and an 87 Honda Hurricane 1000F. I just recently acquired a 2004 cb1000, but the engine needs some work.
They’re just fantastic. It was one of the most satisfying ownership experiences I’ve had. It’s difficult to articulate just how great these are. It’s much like owning a sports car of the 90s: responsive and powerful, but it does things smoothly. It just pushes along through the revs. Comfortable. And it has a suppleness and a lightness to it. I would love to have another someday. Great video, loved the 90s outro too lol.
I love my SC28 ... it's fast but not so fast that it kills you immediately ... she forgives mistakes ;) I drive 3500km each season (6 month) almost at 60.000 km and it drives without any big maintanance. Wheels on it ... oil into it ... its incredible ... this Japanese engineer was a genius
I love my 96 RR-T its an amazing bike. The most desirable in the UK/Europe is the 92/93 original or the 96/97 updated "fox eye" with the updated 919 engine. The 893cc early fox eye in the Urban tiger colours are also sought after.
Very good Video. But for a 60 year old rider ,they are not the best. i come back from rides with nothing but aches & pains. But i still love this old girl. I have a 92, with only 20 or so thousand miles on it, with it all being Standard apart from has you say from the rear shock. But the best thing is, that i can take mine up into the Yorkshire dales for a steady run & get 60MPG, and thats with the occasional blast to get it cleared through. Keep up the good work.
I really love this bike. The white wheels, the dual circular headlights, storage under the seat and she is just so damn good looking. I'd probably get the larger front tire but you have a nice collection sir. I'm subbing
You are right about the plastics becoming brittle with age. It is absolute pain on modern classics of this era. On one Honda I have from this era I have replaced one particular panel three times in the past year because the fixing points disintegrate. While I am fortunate in that the panel is still available and can be bought 'new' from a Honda dealer the last one I bought was actually manufactured 23 years ago. You can see the production date on the back of the panel.
"And it came to pass...... Everything!" That's the full page ad Honda ran in the monthly cycle magazines when the Fireblade initially came to the US. I couldn't afford one then. I finally own one today. Thanks for the excellent video.
I have stock 1992 U.K. model 900rr. On the front forks it has controls for rebound damping, compression damping and spring compression. The rear shock has the same. I know that it’s not gonna happen, but it would be great if Honda brought out an anniversary model for 2022. Fantastic bike. Love it.
I bought that exact bike as soon as it came out. Loved it, but you sat over the front wheel. As least it felt like it. Pure racing performance. I got old and bought VFRs...
Great to see some practical sport bike review again! Great review of such a gorgeous motorcycle! You are right about fairings and other bits and pieces! On my VFR400 NC30 UK Spec from 91’ it is really difficult to find genuine mirrors, license plate and side blinker brackets as all the genuine ABS fairings! When you do prices are just absurd! Also the stickers are almost impossible to find in case you want to re-spray the fairings! You can find decal replicas but not same font, size or colour most of the times! Besides, back then fairings didn’t have clear coat on top of decals, with exception of gas tanks. So yes, better a non runner but cosmetic complete and clean bike than the opposite!
Good video. I found one with under 5000 miles, a bit used and abused, but I've got it running pretty well now. Same paint combo as your red/white/blue one.
I just got a red white and blue one sits next to my black grey Orange one fuck the new bikes these have a soul that never gets or looks old.thank you Honda for getting it right from the very beginning I will be buried on mine! I'm a mortician and I already have my spot next to my grandparents ready to see them again riding a wheelie straight to heaven! Power loyalty and respect Fresno CA
Just found your channel, and enjoying the content.. my ‘99 Blade is stored as it’s winter here in the UK, plus...we’re in a strict lockdown 👎🏼 I am dreaming of warm sunny days when we are free to ride again..
Very nice review, glad to meet you in the universe of information, thank you! Just to let you know: I will most like you to show how become the bike after 6-7 x100 rpm ... After those the bike become a sports bike... Engine is getting even better when gets more food 😂 - monster... This machine can go very crazy... Especially after upgrade just the carburettors, more fuel - more air...in Bulgaria 🇧🇬 this bike pass over 180mph get close to 0mph after upgrade!
A very good review thank you. I had a 1995 Urban Tiger, which I used as a daily driver for 5 years in a UK city and it performed admirably. Lightweight, comfortable, very manoeuvrable in heavy traffic. The only small criticism I had was that the alternator had a smallish output in winter months when headlights were on (most of the time for safety) and the battery had a tendency to go flat without noticing. I added a voltmeter to keep an eye on the input. Otherwise, a fabulous machine.
I had bought a brand new one in 1993 when I was 22 years old I had a lot of mishaps with it including burnt main bearings from doing wheelies all day long, eventually it got hit by a car and was destroyed these bikes were crash magnets, mine enjoyed being on its side more than on its wheels
I personally love the later versions of this bike that ditched the bland and unoriginal round headlights. To me, round headlights belong on a a Gixxer. The 1995 CBR900RR in purple and gold was my absolute dream bike when I was 15 y/o and I can still remember the huge poster of it I had on my wall!
I have a 1997 CBR900RR yellow/purple/white with 13,000 miles. I am the original owner. It's crazy that it's 23 years old. The fork seals are leaking so I have to fix those. Other than that, I still turn heads and people want to know if i will sell it. Thanks for the video!!!!!
Man im sitting here watching this, watching where your riding and the whole time im like wow this place is so familiar, literally riding down ward pkwy into the plaza I didnt know you were from kc haha
Hey man, great review, I have just picked up two 93 blades that need a heap of work, shame you had to ride trough traffic, I have a mountain range nearby that has about 220 corners for 20kms traveled. I had a 95 ZXR750 back in the day and loved "scratching" up and down, now to get a blade going and get back into it!
If you're interested in owning the low-mile RWB 1993 CBR900RR featured in this review, then you're in luck! It will be auctioned on Bring A Trailer (www.bringatrailer.com) in about two weeks. I will update this thread when the auction is live. Until then, enjoy the review video and be sure to check out the walk around video here: th-cam.com/video/HpAWdFZrbaQ/w-d-xo.html
I really want a dual eye. But having a hrc and urban tiger fox eye I can't justify the 10-18k Aus they're now worth. Think I want a zxr750 dual eye to add to the collection.
Love all these classic old bikes and your efforts to re-introduce them. One thing I’d suggest to make your shows more enjoyable is to improve your audio. The sound quality just isn’t great.
5:56 People raving about 'radial' front master cylinders clearly haven't got a clue what they're talking about. There is no difference between them with respect to braking performance, the lever pivots about a fulcrum with a pushrod a short distance from that fulcrum to prof=vide a mechanical advantage. The only two things that matter are the pushrod mechanical advantage of the cylinder bore; guess what, they are bout variable no matter the type.
Well Done, but you mistook the 11.7" front disks (296mm) by saying 17.7" front disks. It happens. That would make the disks an inch bigger than the front wheel ;-)
@Practical Enthusiast would you ever consider doing a Classic Bike Review on a Kawasaki ZX-9R B model 1994-1997 or a comparison video between the fireblade and the ZX-9R, great video very informitive thanks.
axial mounted calipers, no inverted forks, weird tire sizing lol. Power is pretty good for today... if you're on a 600 Might be important to mention that the reason you want to change coolant every 2 years is because it becomes acidic as it oxidizes and can corrode your coolant system... not because it "wears out" and doesn't work as well from use.
I would feel soooo much more comfy using the purple one. I have a 1984 vf500c that is looks nice but is not showroom quality either. I am really comfortable using it and would otherwise be terrified of using it if it was as perstine as that white fireblade
Depends on the exhaust. Technically, you should dyno tune it to determine the optimal jets, or at least get recommendations from someone who has dyno tested it. Some exhausts are similar to factory but are just louder, others have substantially different flow properties.
I went from a Kawa ZX7 to the 900RR...in my opinion the ZX7 was superior in most areas.... especially the aero and the handling..now off to hunting another ZX7. Good looking bike though..
Cbr 900s can't be pushed to hard. They lose the front and rear tire pretty fast and out of nowhere. Speed wise the cbr 900 would eat the zx7 for breakfast
@@polok890 The 900rr has a 15-20 hp advantage, in my experience I could immediately feel the zx7 has better aero, and handled better, didn't feel much slower than my 900...maybe in your case the gearing on either bike had something to do with that?
Hello from Canada! I have a 1995 Urban Tiger but it's pretty dinged up. Any idea what something like that is worth? If it's not worth much I'd like to do a colour change and garage restoration. Any comments appreciated.
It depends how "dinged up" it is. Will the fairings and tank need significant repair? That color scheme is uncommon in NA so it might hold some value leaving it as is.
@@PracticalEnthusiast yeah the old girl definitely needs a full repaint, scuffs all over from the years. I'd love to do a Repsol style scheme myself but wasn't sure how rare it currently is. I don't know nearly as much about bikes as cars so just trying to learn quickly.
I’m 22 6’1 210 and I just got my moms 1994 I wanna say it’s red, black and white? Would you recommend it be a good starter bike? Would love all opinions I’m just now starting and can’t wait! It’s in great condition all original parts beside the muffler
Its alot of bike for a starter bike but hey its was my first real street bike 19 years ago at 19 years old. Loved it. 93 black red n silver. Buddy had that red white and blue. Wheelie machine. Yoshimura pipe. Would love to find another but hole shit did they go up in price!
Dude, hell no. First of all, the last thing you want to do is bang up a classic bike on a rookie mistake. Second of all, this is a quick bike even by modern standards and has no electronic assists or ABS. Best case you'll nervously putt around for a year, worst case you'll give too much throttle/brake/etc. and destroy it and maybe yourself, too. If you really want to ride it, get some cheap Ninja 250 or CBR300 and when you can flog that around with ease, then start riding the CBR. Just keep in mind when you go from a beginner bike to the CBR that you can't just crank the throttle or slam the brakes, faster bikes have much more powerful everything and inputs need to be light and deliberate, hamfisted inputs will get you thrown off the bike before you know what happened.
Hi Sir great review, I have a 1995 Fireblade foxeye, Urban Tiger colour, I brought it new in 1995 it's covered 14,000 miles, love it as much today as I did when it was new, what I saw different to the UK bike is both your Honda's have speedo cable drives from the front wheel, here in the UK there fed from engine case, sensor!! ATB Wayne UK.
Hi Sir I have a 1994 urban tiger seconded Generation fireblade and i have a first Generation 1993 fireblade , the first Generation 1993 with the round headlights is the same as the American one, the speedo cable gose to the front wheel, well spotted tho I never noticed the two of the were different 🍻

I started riding a year ago, and got a 1999 CBR900RR for a steal. It’s such an amazing motorcycle that still looks great next to modern machines.
modern machines look bad, it looks out of place cause its gorgeous
An outrageous piece of kit in its day and still a serious ride for a good pilot. Honda making a point!
Dream bike, I’m in love with the eyeball headlights and the analog dash. It reminds me of my Miata in those aspects. Modern day digital dashes are nice but something is beautiful about the classic gauges. Those headlights give it a cute look in my opinion
Still one of the best looking sport-bikes ever made!
It always cracks me up when the bike that someone is reviewing is older than the person reviewing it.
and we are the dinosaurs 😂
it's not a "used bike". It's a legend. Treat it with respect.
This was a revolution when it came out. Everybody wanted one. I feel the looks have stood the test of time.
Don't fuck with the original!

Literally just edited my review of an original 1992 I just rode. It stands up in today's world.
Loved the review and seeing the local landmarks! You drove right by where I work! Keep up the great reviews!

Great review again man! Good communication style, easy to understand. Also this one of the best looking bikes of all time.
Great upload! Glad to see that that **** jeep moves over for you at 25:57 😬
Great review. Man, the temptation to ride that white bike must be overwhelming!
Wow !! -- that bike needs to be in a climate controlled museum to preserve the history of this iconic man made machine !!
my second and last bike, pure magic
:Intro ohhhhhh that sound. those bikes make so much grunt low and midrange.
I have a 1997 CBR900RR yellow/purple/white with 13,000 miles. I am the original owner. It's crazy that it's 23 years old. The fork seals are leaking so I have to fix those. Other than that, I still turn heads and people want to know if i will sell it. Thanks for the video!!!!!

thinking about buying one. thanks
i remember when that bike first come out IT WAS THE SHIT it was fast as hell

Must the cam chain tensioner be removed before removing and reinstalling the cams ?
No, but you must to take the tension off of it. Check out my video on doing a valve adjustment on the CBR900RR.
I just bought a CBR929RR and feel like these videos are helpful on what to look for. Is that you riding on the plaza @1928?
Sure is!
my favorite séries, top ! 👍

👍wonderfull Bike
Nice Bike
I went from a Kawa ZX7 to the 900RR...in my opinion the ZX7 was superior in most areas.... especially the aero and the handling..now off to hunting another ZX7. Good looking bike though..
Cbr 900s can't be pushed to hard. They lose the front and rear tire pretty fast and out of nowhere. Speed wise the cbr 900 would eat the zx7 for breakfast
Bought my 93 cbr 900 instead of a 91 zx7r limited race edition in 1996. What do you think about that
@@polok890 The 900rr has a 15-20 hp advantage, in my experience I could immediately feel the zx7 has better aero, and handled better, didn't feel much slower than my 900...maybe in your case the gearing on either bike had something to do with that?
@@ColAngus my 93 cbr 900 was stock. They were way faster than that generation 750. I was there and rode the stuff
