I honestly thought that I hadn't learned anything in year one and then, when it came to writing my BA thesis I used so much of what I had learned in my first semester. You learn so much without realising it.
I study fashion marketing and I feel the same in terms of the information in first year. I had already studied business and textiles for GCSEs and A levels so felt like I was far ahead but excited for second year for the pace to pick up!
im doing fashion studies but with a focus in merchandising/product marketing n all that business side of things 🥰 Uni is charging me $71 for the year which is incredible! I'm extremely grateful for the scholarships and financial aid I received lol IM SO EXCITED
Hello Rosie!! I've got a question. I just finished my undergraduate course in fashion design in Portugal and I'm going to be taking a masters in the UK starting next September. Here in Portugal we didn't have to make our garments with our own hands, just the pattern cutting and then we'd send everything to a seamstress to have it done. Is it the same there in the uk or do you have to actually sew your own garments? ❤️
Great video- super helpful and informative! I’ve just finished my third year of fashion at Northumbria university and heading into final year in September (ours is a four year course) so I totally get everything you were saying! I’m nervous for final year but also so so excited to create a full collection ☺️
I really loved this video! I'm studying something completely different but I'm in my first year and everything feels still a bit weird so I found this video very helpful and also really inspiring. xx
Hi, I'm wondering did you study at Leeds Art university? I am deciding between Leeds and Kingston University to do an Erasmus in first semester. Can you tell me what sort of projects dis you have in Menswear, can you do whatever you want or it must be pret-a-porter, how it is with pattern making and sewing... Id appreciate everything you can tell. Thank you ❤️
Hi ! I 've never studided fashion and would love to be able to do my own clothes but can't afford going to uni again. Do you have websites, youtube channels, etc that could teach how to sew and make garments? :D It would be amazing !
I want to take Fashion Design but I don’t know how to sew :/ Will I need to know anything prior to attending the school? I don’t really have any focused activities that would allow me to get ahead in school... so what should I do?
Narciso Carig don’t worry at all about this ! Many people on this course when I started last year had never sewn before , what uni are you attending? If it’s the same one I’m pretty sure they will do the same thing
kaylouise actually, I was just wondering as I’m doing college applications right now so I was very worried that I would not have the skills prior to survive the course. Hearing what you said helps a lot. I’ll still try to learn the basics but I’m glad that I won’t have to learn everything before attending Uni.
Narciso Carig most unis (in the U.K.) teach you how to sew as one of your first modules. I already had experience so it was easy for me but for others on my course, it was really beneficial for them
This is super useful, thank you! I was just wondering what your thoughts are on art and design foundation courses? Did many of the students on your course do one? And do you think they are useful? xx
Olivia Curran I’ve just finished my foundation year and honestly was the best year of education and I progressed so much in my concepts, ideas and drawing I really would recommend it and there’s so many like minded people that did my course, I’m doing fashion design in September so I don’t know how helpful it will be but from what I’ve heard I think it will be (hopefully) x
Sarah Louise thank you for replying! That's so good to hear, may I ask where you did yours? I'm looking at two near where I live because I want to stay at home for an extra year but would love to know other great courses x
Olivia Curran lots of people on my course did a foundation year! I think it’s helpful if your a-levels aren’t all artistic or you’re not sure which area of design/art you want to go into x
MsRosieBea ah okay, thank you! Btw I'm really thankful that you are making videos about your work - it is so useful and interesting! Also you are so talented 😊💕
Please what uni do you go to because I have been looking for fashion unis to apply to. I don't want one in London and I wasn't one around nature, so please if you have any suggestions... Thank you❤
Usually universities that have fashion design courses require you do a levels that are art based for example people usually do: Art, Fashion and textiles, photography etc. Or other who don't do a levels may have done a level 3 extended diploma in fashion and textiles, art or even creative media.
Hi all , I'm really interested into going into fashion PR but i don't know what I would have to take for it? X I'm not interested in designing, more the communications side ❤
You’re glowing, your makeup is so flattering, your eyes are gorgeous, your hair so healthy looking. Been a subscriber for 3 years now! 😍
Kristina Savic you’re so sweet, thank you! Xx

The purpose of first year at a university tends to be to get everyone up to the same level of expertise :) x
Please do a “a day in my life”
