I met Jerry Springer once at Chicago O Hare airport. Was sitting waiting for a flight and he came and sat down right across from me! It took a minute but people started recognizing him and then started asking for pictures. He took the time to take pictures with everyone who asked. Super friendly. What a classy guy.
The thing that sticks out to me about Jerry is how he summarized at the end of each episode with thought and caring and a lesson for us all...and of course his sign off. Thanks for all of the crazy TV and funny memories. Rest in peace Jerry...you are already sorely missed by so many.

Ill never forget the story he told of his dad getting older. He still had a car which Jerry thought he should give it up. His dad who had escaped Germany had lost his mother as did his wife. When he asked his dad why he was so determined to keep the car he said ' Because it might happen again and we need the car to get away.' He was of course referring to the Holocaust. Cried my eyes out. 😢

Met Jerry a few times as I worked at a private FBO in Sarasota were he kept his private jet. Pilots weren't friendly but Jerry always had a smile on his face and always said hello when he boarded his airplane. His wife and daughter were also friendly. Says alot for this man with his history as most famous people wouldn't even give you the time of the day. RIP Mr Springer God speed.
I met him twice, he used to come to the hotel I used to work at. I was the Front Desk Agent. I saw him the first him but did not check him in, but the 2nd time, I did. He was very friendly, down to earth kind a guy. I told him about my dream job and he said, "do what makes you happy, go and do it, don't waste time" I never forget. RIP Jerry!!!

When Jerry's show left the air because he retired I was happy for him but a little sad too because his show was so entertaining and it was a big part of all of our lives . When I heard he had passed away the world felt a little more empty because he was a good man . RIP Mr. Springer you will be missed .

Got to meet Jerry once. Was working the Oscars & went to Arby's on Sunset to get lunch. They had tables out front & wanted to some sunshine. As i'm eating, I see this man in a suit walking in my direction on the sidewalk. Coming from the opposite direction were 2 young ladies that were tourists. they couldn't believe their eyes, stopped Jerry, told him they were big fans & asked to take a pic with him. I offered to take the pic. When they walked away squealing, Jerry stopped to talk to me for a bit commenting on how funny that just was. He said he was getting some Arby's too & asked if didn't mind him joining me. We sat & ate lunch together & talked. When we got up to leave, HE thanked ME for the good company & wished me well. Just the nicest, most down to earth guy. So grateful for that day. JERRY JERRY JERRY!!!
I went to his show in Stanford Connecticut and before the recording he went to every guest introduced himself and shook their hand, had a brief conversation with them. What a gentleman he was…. I had a fairly ruff childhood, when The Jerry Springer Show" came about in my teens, it was an escape from the trials and tribulations of my reality. I watched his show religiously and hoped to 1 day be an audience member but that never came to fruition for me, but that's OK cuz I still had the hour long show to think to myself: "as long as I'm not on that stage, my life isn't so bad". LOL. His show put that thought in my mind and it's helped me deal with my clinical diagnosis of 'PTSD' from all I was forced to endure, cuz as long as I'm not finding myself up on stage at The Jerry Springer Show, things for me aren't THAT bad. 😉👍 JERRY! JERRY! JERRY! And of course, the occasional "STEVE!" when Steve was head of security on set and he'd have to break up a few nitwits who went to tearing each other up. LOL. Good times, indeed. ❤
