Paul knew Renzo had a chance to take out amoongus, so he put xern in his face as a distraction, then switched it out landing another impactful intimidate, and then just continued to play such that game 1 was wrapped in a neat little bow. I hate amoongus, but I can’t deny that Paul’s piloting of it is pure skill.
encore can really pressure xerneas a lot, because if it’s encored you’re forced to switch into something that can’t switch in, or get stuck using geomancy over and over and thus getting ko’d

No dynamax makes it a lot more fun to watch imo, but that also reminded me of how annoying fake outs are xD
There’s a part of me that legitimately thinks maxed pokes don’t flinch specifically because of fake out as a game mechanic.
