The sableye ally switch was because it had no other valid moves as it can't use quash or trick on grimmsnarl (the commentators seemed to have forgotten that prankster doesn't work on dark types) and it certainly doesn't wanna give back choice specs to fini
Yes, ditto had choice scarf, and nihilego did not have sludge bomb or any poison move, which defeated my adjusted gameplan of sweeping the fairy types with boosted sludge bombs
Ally switch was mainly used to position ditto in the back optimally and occasionally to protect kyurem. However, after it did it’s job with the other moves I didn’t want to switch it out because I wanted to keep my valuable pieces in the back safe from damage, so I just kept it in until it fainted
He was never a restricted pokemon, and also not considered a legendary due to it’s modest bst (base stat total) of 550. The minimum for being considered a legendary is 600 base stat total, which is where most of the psuedo-legendaries have, restricteds for the most part start at 670+, with Regigigas being the one exception
@@klugenstein8389 Please elaborate what you would have done instead, I’m actually curious to learn. Maybe you’re right in that I made a big mistake and choked by missing a better line
@@kortexpokemon4082 dont get me wrong, I was rooting for ya. But you knew that a Kyreum max hail would have 1 hit the grimsnarl. Yet you did something else. The urshifu max ooze just didnt play out like you wanted is all. Ditto switching for calyrex seemed strange timing. When ditto Nihl using power gem and Keyruem using ancientpower into what i easy read a protect, seemed like a wasted turn. But i also know that watching and being there 'live' playing is different. Its also my opinion

So glad to see Ditto ! I was really rooting for Nathan, he's great. Zac deservedly won tho. Great match anyway. Thanks for sharing.
Isn't it more likely the Ditto had a choice item rather than there being no sludge bomb on the Nihilego?
Yeah commentators just messing up

@@kortexpokemon4082 Oh I see. Props for the very cool strategy though, too bad it played out the way it did.
@@kortexpokemon4082 was it meteor beam, power gem, grass knot, and protect?
@@winterknightvgc Yep!
Nice to see nihilego and talonflame in top 4!
These are the types of teams people should take notes from. It doesnt always have to be inceneroar, kyogre, and zacian for every single person.
Yeah Id love to see Zac's team report.
sableye with no reason "ally switch"

Oh did urshifu is not in the restricted listed any more?
I think that he is a legendary, isn’t ?

@@Oneilius Thank you so much 👍. I was new in VGC. I never heard that before hahaha 😂
Nathan choked in that last game so hard. I think every move he made, i wouldve done different
this is why your not in top 4
