Kawasaki ultra is the best hull for those types waters.Sea Doo Whit the carbon seal and the politec hull you have to take it easy.. I congratulate you guys on that great journey
The parking is $20 per day. And jet skis can go into the bay. The southernmost point PWCs can go is referred to as "Charlie". There used to be an actual marker there that the Coast guard used but it has been removed. Geographically you can look for Chicken Key as your point of reference. It runs parallel to "Charlie". The easternmost border is "Bravo" and it's at the start of the Cape Florida channel. I have both of these points marked and I'm happy to share the Lat & long if anyone is interested. I live in Miami and own a jet ski and my local marina is Key Biscayne.
@@WeekendersontheWater back at you. I'm prepping for my first crossing will very likely and hopefully see you both on the Facebook group trip next year.
Actually Geico uses US TOW as their main boat and jetski towing service and it does cover over sea's if your in the bahamas waters or close to the bahama's US TOW can go into international waters and tow you back. As for coverage for fixing your jetski while in the bahamas "NO" but if you need a tow the US Tow service can get you. They have a international tow plan also in the US insurance package.
Thanks for the info. I've heard a few people mention some insurance companies may offer coverage with certain stipulations, but out of the 100 skis on our trip no one was able to show proof of that.
@WeekendersontheWater I just called geico and yes they use US tow boat and will do international towing. I know thos because i went and did the bimini trip back in 2014 on my 2014 yamaha VX cruiser.
WAIT, WHAT?! A Sea Doo Switch on the trip to Bimini?? Please tell me you have video of this? Been trying to find someone who has done that. I have a Switch and would love to find out how they did it and plan to do that as well.
There is some footage of it in the first video of us crossing. Particularly in the background when we stop halfway. But I don't know that person personally, I did not talk to them. I heard about them pulling a jet ski back on Facebook a few days later. I think it was a seadoo switch owners group, but I'm not a member it just popped up on Facebook. Here's a link to the video that we did on the initial crossing, where you can see them in the background. th-cam.com/video/z70-IVwRpEI/w-d-xo.html
@@WeekendersontheWater Once you make it to the island, it's all good. I'm talking about in-between when you get surrounded by boats and guns. Check out some videos.
i plan to make this trip next year on our skis
Awesome! Maybe we'll see you there.

I have heard good things about Kawasaki offshore. Although to be honest I've not had any issues with the polytech on the SeaDoo
Great information. You guys rock!
Thanks!

I use progressive as well, it's your best bet with the 75 mile package.
Price is right too
And don’t forget to tell him do not go across there by yourself at least 2 to 3 skis minimum
Absolutely!
My biggest fear would be the equivalent of Somali pirates trying to kidnap you or whatever. 😄
Pirates of the Caribbean. Lol. The island was very friendly. All the locals we met were great. Felt very safe the whole time.
