I have two Waverunners and they are stored on ramps at a dock. One is supercharged the other is not. I use premium in both. They do not sell premium at most marinas around me. The Waverunners have 18.5 gallon tanks. I have 4 BP cans and three Sure Cans. I would recommend both. I put 5.5 gallons in each BP can and 5 gallons in the Sure Can.
The BP cans empty so fast they are incredible. When I fill up I pour the BP cans in first. I use the Sure Cans at the end. The Sure Cans are slow but you have great control over the gas being poured. This prevents spillage and overflows. I would never recommend using Sure Cans only. It would take forever and on a hot summer day you will be sweating your butt off. Using this method saves about 20 minutes filling up between the 2 watercraft’s.

I don't envy that you have to manually move all that premium fuel each ride, and in the heat. But I think we are on the same page. VP and sure can are the best. I've just heard of the cops giving people a hard time with the VP jugs.

I use the WEST MARINE version of the Sure Can. Exactly the same. You may or may not have West Marine out there. Same cost too.

We have West Marine. Although I've never been. Does their version have stainless steel hardware?

@ good question. I didn’t even think of checking.

IMHO, been buying gas cans all my life, I would not trust the Sure Can with outlet at the bottom. It will eventually fail and you will have a mess of gasoline to clean up. The best can I have purchased is the Justrite. Absolutely bullet proof and safe beyond belief. If I can go back to when I purchase my first gas can and buy the Jutrite, I would still have it today.

Thanks a good point about the bottom outlet.
I've not tried the justrite, but I'm not sure I love the idea of painted metal in salt water either.

Another brilliant and informative video, Lewis.
I have a VP can and the rubber o ring seal in the cap expanded (lengthened) in the first 3-4 months, and no longer fits in the cap and the cap doesnt tighten properly now. Becaise the can is such high quality workmanship, I now use it without the seal and it still doesnt leak. But I need to contact VP for a new seal. I am a little concerned the o ring is not totally gasoline compatible...
Second, does anyone have actual first hand knowledge and experience of highway patrol or FWC stopping someone carrying a VP can on their jetski either trailering or riding, not just wondering or assuming VP cans are inviting a ticket?

      Thanks Brian!
Here's an Amazon link to the o-rings. I think this is the official one, but there are other more affordable options as well.

I don't have first hand knowledge. But I did see one time on the Florida ski riders Facebook group that someone mentioned they got pulled over for having the VP jugs on the back of their ski. In the comment section people debated whether it was the color or what. But a lawyer in the comments mentioned it was the fact that the fuel jugs are not approved for use by the government. I don't remember exactly what law they pointed to. But here is a similar one stating that it cannot be used on the highway and is punishable by a felony. My understanding is that the same law applies to the waterways.

Where did you buy the black cap for your sure can?

I don't know why they don't sell it on Amazon. You have to get it directly from sure can.
