Thank you Ross for getting me up and running with this App. I'm new to all things Midi, but determined not to be beaten by "Tech". I'm now able to change Patches on a Blue Nebula Echo pedal using my Ipad. It's brilliant!!
Yes! I would like you to show how you set the app up! I have never used MIDI, you have made it clear it's time to learn as this will be crazy handy! I'm going to buy the wireless midi adapter and i hope the app video will be ready up by then or soon. I am learning from scratch so the more detailed the better. I am subscriber, and you have taught me so much about my rc-600 since the day I unboxed it! Thank you!
No problem at all! I'll get a more detailed video made over the next few days. I'm glad youve found the videos useful and have learnt a few things. That's the reason I make them, and thank you for your kind words. Ross
Great stuff mate. So good. Can you please do a full tutorial on how to set this up? I play acoustic guitar and vocals. I want to keep things simple by adding drums. Also changing fx on the fly for guitar and vocals. Thank you 🙏🏽😃
Thats amazing and thanks so much for the video bu actually I am looking for to do it but with the RC505 mk2 instead, do you know if that would work ? Or is only to the RC600? Looking foward to hear from you, obrigado! :)
Thank you for taking the time to comment. I don't actually own the RC505 MK2, however, I do believe the internal components are virtually the same as the RC-600, so I have no reason to believe why it wouldn't work in the same way. Hope this helps. Ross
Can't wait until a small version of this is built into the rc 600. Some touch screen stuff would be nice. Tired of connecting anything else that needs power, wifi and bluetooth. If I am not running into batttery issues, I am running into noise issues. BUt this looks so nice to have on the side lines. So many other options that take care of all this unlimited options, but most require daws or computer based loopers and software away from the hardware.
Let's hope BOSS are working on something like that. I would definitely be interested in a more user-friendly and up to date interface, with some additional features, that's for sure!
Ross you are a legend. Thank you so much for all your videos they are super helpful. I’m off to get that midi thing. My iPad doesn’t have 3G though. Would I be able to play live with this thing without a laptop or Wi-Fi? Sorry if I’m being thick
Hey Adam, thanks for your kind words. Your iPad wouldn't need to be connected to any WiFI network for this to work. You've got 2 options really, which are; 1. Use a standard USB printer cable to run from your iPad to the RC-600. You'll also require a lighting to USB adapter, such as the camera adapter you will see in my 2nd MIDI Pad 2 video. 2. Do it all wirelessly with a wireless MIDI adapter. You'll just need to make sure your iPad Bluetooth connection works fine and you will also need to install a free app called Midimittr, which allows you to connect your iPad to other MIDI devices over Bluetooth. Hope this helps and best of luck! Ross
@@RossGallagherMusic thank you so much - I’ll give it a go with option 2 as wireless was pretty much what got me excited about this - do not need another cable in my life!!! :)
Hello Ross, I have a question, can I use an Alesis Samplepad using the midi on the rc-600? Would it be possible to assign the sounds to the pads? Thank you!
I don't believe there is at the moment, but there is an app called TouchOSC that will allow you to send MIDI commands in a similar way. It's much more customisable, and you can also set up knobs and faders if that's something you also wanted to do.
Is wireless midi offer thru capabilities? Can I buy one wireless midi adaptor and control to devices as long as I have a midi cable between those devices?
If you use a wireless MIDI device similar to mine, I believe you may have to have one for each device you wish to control. It needs to be plugged in to the in and out of a device, so it wouldn't be possible to connect a cable from the output if its already in use.
Hi Ray, I couldn't find the document I was referring to, but I have found a couple of things that could help you out. The first link is a list of the General MIDI notes you can use to trigger drum sounds and percussion, and gives you a list of which note triggers which sound. The 2nd link is a PDF I came across for the RC-10R, and at the bottom, it has a complete list of which sounds are for which kit. It might not be exactly the same as the RC-600, but it gives you a general idea of where things are when looking for a specific sound to trigger. Hope this helps. Do you know how I can send a "bank select" message from this app? Ive tried the 2 CC message method with CC00 and CC32N, but am unable to go beyond the 128 PC. I love the app, but cant use it live if I cant get this function to work. Any experience with this?
Can you make a pad with horizontal cases so I can put the name of a song in the case. I want to send midi commands to Boss GT1000 core and Boss RC10-R in the same action. I want also to be able to launch an application that show my guitar tab. Is it possible ?
Hi, by specifying a number of colums = 1 in the edit page (and an arbitrary number of rows, say 16), you get a pads layout similar to a list of (here 16) items, each wide enough to be labeled with a complete song name. Just be aware that the pages are not scrollable, so the number of rows per page will be limited by the size of the screen (but you can define an arbitrary number of pages).

Fantastic, that's great to hear. I'm glad I've managed to help you out in some way!
I'd be grateful if you would do a video on how you set up the minipad. Thanks. Great work!
Thanks so much for your kind words. I'll be making a more detailed video over the next few days, so keep your eyes peeled! Ross
Absolute fantastic find and yes please set up a video on how to use it and I'll promise to buy you a coffee or two
Consider it done, Tony! I'll aim to have that uploaded over the weekend so keep your eyes peeled 👀

Thanks for the video. Would this be able to step sequence messages to a digitech whammy or will each pad activate all assigned functions at once?

Where do you get the drums to load onto the iPad being controlled by the midi switch?
Have you changed to channel 10 on the RC? This video should hopefully help you out...th-cam.com/video/JJeLYh_T2DE/w-d-xo.html
Hello Ross, I have a question, can I use an Alesis Samplepad using the midi on the rc-600? Would it be possible to assign the sounds to the pads? Thank you!
As long as there is a MIDI out on the Samplepad, I've no reason to believe why this wouldn't be possible.
@@RossGallagherMusic Great, I’ll give it a try then.
Will let you know the outcome. Thanks for all your content, it’s being very useful!

Purchased a WIDI midi thru bluetooth... Can Midi PAD Send LSB/MSB?
can you tell me the notes for the drums on channel 10 ... is there a list of what drums to what note change for the rc600
There is a pdf out there somewhere, with a list of which notes trigger which sounds. I'll see if I can dig it out and let you know. Ross
