Ya great little engines. This thing runs like a top, after I installed it in my boat and gave it a few good runs it’s cleaned itself up and runs awesome. I’ve got a 4.108 I just finished installing in my newest project boat. Hoping to toss it in the water next week and test run it.
The Metal Butcher nice! I love these engines. I was originally looking for a cheap 4.236 Perkins that is just a 4 cylinder version of this one but my boss had this lying around and I was lucky enough to buy it off him
I saw the video of your sae 400. Have a similar project going on. Swapping a 2-71 into the place of a Hercules. Would greatly appreciate any help or pics of the engine/generator coupling set up.

Wrong. there is nothing wrong with it. This engine hasn’t ran in a long time and after a couple hours of running under load it runs perfectly fine now
