I'm sorry but the title and thumbnail are clickbait. The thumbnail shows a massive engine, and yet most of these are pretty tiny. And I never did find the clip of video in the thumbnail which is the one I wanted to see. Try this, do a search on "some of the biggest engines in the world" and see what comes up. Then pick a new thumbnail and title for this video.
The Mercruiser is the best sounding engine by far, but nearly 4000 h.p.? No way. It would have to run massive nitromethane with a shit-ton of boost to get anywhere near that. This one wasn't.
Since WW-2, beach landing vehicles known as LVT for Landing Vehicle Tracked. They had a marine version of a radial engine because the navy had the aircraft spares and mechanics to keep them running. Many Sherman tanks were built with radial engines also.
daem, i swear to god, ive replaced every engine cover and tuned every aspect of the marine engine on the thumbnail, its a hunk of a machine, tightening the crankshaft bearings is a nightmare tho depending on how tightly its built into the sorrounding machinery...
You lost me when you claimed a mercruiser V8 was producing over 3,000 hp. Plus at that point I had yet to see a "large" engine. I should have know when the 7 cylinder radial engine was listed as a "marine engine".
It's a water-cooled marine engine. In a boat, it would pull cooling water directly from the body of water that the boat is traveling through and then blow it out the exhaust, but mounted on a stand like that, he hooked up his garden hose.
I watched the entire video to see the engine shown in the thumbnail and it wasn’t there. I did enjoy the video but because you successfully clickbaited me I will watch no more of your videos.
These engines are internal combustion, heavy polluters and gutless. A friend of mine , Ted Prichard of Melbourne Aust., designed and built a steam unit [external combustion] over fifty years ago. It was and still is the lowest emission engine in the world. I could be excused for believing vehicle builders could not meet these standards, still can't, and governments changed the goal posts to appease them. Put a steamer back to back with a diesel and see who wins. I can tell you. Vote steam.
Every time I watch one of these I feel the climate getting slightly warmer. I mean seriously have any of you people ever heard of a catalytic converter!

Good points well put..
This channel is always click bait
We thank you for the warning
Still good content. Stop crying
@@todds.wheatley1278 Someone likes click bait. Go away with your BS, clown.
It is amazing how the guys and gals know how to start tricky machinery ....they treat the car like a doctor would a person.
Agreed. The search term you're looking for is 'cathedral engines', and they are almost exclusively ship engines.
That 454 mercruiser sounds amazing
Yes, it sounds amazing, but not 3,851 HP amazing. I doubt that very much.
@@savagemako17 385 more likely
Chev V6 Marine Version.
Nah, it doesn't... It sounds like an old John Deere tractor.
More click bait where’s the engine in the picture !!!!
I thumb down clickbait thumbnails.
Спасибо за видео!!!
Кайф...👍👍👍🙏
Clickbait..... the engine shown on the opening picture wasn't shown..
Clickbait and bought comments lol.
could have done without the headers..
The Mercruiser has my heart!
The Mercruiser is the best sounding engine by far, but nearly 4000 h.p.? No way. It would have to run massive nitromethane with a shit-ton of boost to get anywhere near that. This one wasn't.
🤣
I agree... only way that motor would make that kind of horsepower is to run it on distilled bullshit
The guy starting the red engine at 1 minute in this video is….the best.
I'm excited
2:13 I think they forgot they're supposed to burn fuel
That jet dragster would be an awesome rig for deterring tailgaters, lol. 😅😅
I'm exited
A Mercruiser 454 making 3851HP? I'll have some of what ever y'all are smoking.
Reported as Clickbait.
No way the Mercruiser has 3851 PSHP, 385 maybe/possibly more like it. (yes I've seen similar comments below)
The guy at the start gassing himself, Jesus! Actually most people gassing themselves! lol
Did I read 3851 propshaft horsepower (2:04)?? That no way legit for a normally aspirated engine 454 in² !
Great video!
Makes me think of the scene from "Das Boot" where they start up the sub's engine
Very good
Imagine making a huge torque converter using airliner turbines as the pump and stator and I forgot the turbine it self 😂
0:42 Since when have they used air-cooled radial engines crammed into the enclosed engine bays of boats??
Since WW-2, beach landing vehicles known as LVT for Landing Vehicle Tracked. They had a marine version of a radial engine because the navy had the aircraft spares and mechanics to keep them running. Many Sherman tanks were built with radial engines also.
Click bait, hope Karl and Karen move next door to you.🥳
Powerful engine
that 7 cylinder radial, the second guy in, has the weakest support structure. Geez, what is that half inch rod?
Once again you show something on the video thumb that’s not in the video. This bait and switch earns you a thumbs down.
Jet dragster stats up like a jet airplane
And not 1 big engine started up on this program!
So, where were the BIG engines?
Weres the big engines.
Does the Bristol Hercules have to run on 100 octain fuel?
Like a junior high science project
2:20 why is there fuel dumping out of the exhaust?
the print across the top of the screen is stupid and detracting from the actual content
I don't need no stinkin hearing protection! Wait....What?

No big engines there!
0:42 award anshuman
imagine the young today trying to start these if it don't start in 2 seconds they would be off
Ford Flathead : not a startup.
Please pay attention
(1:53) Does anybody notice fluid coming out of the Mercruiser's exhaust?
Engine from boat, this os cooling water
It's a water-cooled marine engine. In a boat, it would pull cooling water directly from the body of water that the boat is traveling through and then blow it out the exhaust, but mounted on a stand like that, he hooked up his garden hose.
A Mercursier 454 producing 3850HP? Not a snowflakes chance. Not surprised though, it is just clickbait.
I think that was a mistake. It is 385 HP.
Trick advertising! Never showed the big engine on trailer!
Big Engines Starting Up,,, tractors dont have big engines.
The smoke is toxic
Clickbait....
Clickbait video......
Simply clickbait :-(
Thumb is clickbait. Be honest. Negative.
I watched the entire video to see the engine shown in the thumbnail and it wasn’t there. I did enjoy the video but because you successfully clickbaited me I will watch no more of your videos.
OK that mercruiser has 330 hp not 3500. Dumb
